APPENDIX L: STORYBOARD DESIGN OF VIRTUAL ONLINE PERAK APPENDIX M: PRINT SCREENS OF THE VIRTUAL ONLINE PERAK. It will also cover how the site management and content management play important roles in achieving high usability of the website. Assessing usability through case studies and following some guidelines on achieving effective site management and good content management will be part of the methods used in this project.

Content Management

UsabilityAs the Big Picture

Design and Development ofthe Prototype

Based on the topic covered by this project, there are basically three main objectives to be achieved through this project. In fact, the findings will essentially focus on the concept that lies beneath the three. The prototype of the commercial tourism website will be based on the presentation that will be visible.

Usability Rules the Web

Site Management Ensure Systematic Organization of the Website

This situation certainly creates more complexity or issues that will affect a team of developers assigned to a web project" (Fletcher, 2004). Based on the above reasons, selecting the right management tool will ultimately help the web developer manage their websites Whatever it is, we can no longer deny the important role of effective site management as it will be vital to the success of any web project development.

Why Content Management?

TopNine Mistakes of Web Management

Finally, the high performance will actually support the usability of the website as what the author would like to tell in this project. The author uses Macromedia Dreamweaver MX 2004 as the main platform to create the tourism prototype. Two of the areas that need to be closely monitored are the quality of the information that goes online and the usability of the user interface design.

Thefour C's ofquality Web Content

Based on the findings from various books and articles, most researchers said that whatever aspect of content management we consider should be aligned with the usability of the site. The most important thing about credibility with the content we present on our website is developing content that "sells" the user without appearing to be selling anything. Credibility is not just about words, but also about who provides the information, the navigation and visual material used, plus the way the information is updated.

Some of the general tips that the researchers suggest to be applied as a guideline to develop online credibility are as below. Have a logo or other information on each web page to identify the site owner(s) or author(s). The main issue regarding clarity in the development of web content is that the tendency of the author to express personal writing style.

The economy required depends on where the text is on the site and how the user will use it. Coherence involves connecting all parts of the content in a clear and logical manner, which increases its ability to persuade readers. Information should be organized into a logical group in order for users to efficiently navigate the content and find the information they are looking for.

It's what we do to develop a document (or communication) that works for its users." Accordingly, information design is a comprehensive process of development, including planning, organizing, designing, drafting, testing, gathering feedback, and updating contents.

The Graphical User Interface (GUI)

The purpose of the case studies is to provide input for the author on the idea of usability for websites. It is believed that real user experience will provide more insight into what makes the site actually usable than depending on guidance and advice from experts alone. The author has chosen 8 tourism websites to analyze to see what kind of content it is.

The Categories for Evaluation

Layout and Graphics • The overall presentation can be a bit boring due to the poor use of colors and graphics. Based on the assessment carried out during the case study, some of the results have been analyzed and presented through graphical representation. Below are two of the important findings that are depicted using graphs based on the elements assessed.

The author has also followed some of the guidelines and tips found in the studies collected in this project. The author has chosen one of the most common problems, which leads to ineffective site management consisting of a broken link. Keeping a broken link on the website is bad practice and affects the usability of the website itself.

Based on this, the author identified the right information architecture (IA) model that meets the website's content aggregation needs. For the structure of the website, the author chose a tree model that shows the levels of the content hierarchy. It helps the author to visualize the navigation and overall layout of the site before exporting the design to the html page.

The mind map and storyboard of the website prototype can be viewed in Appendix I.

Relevancy To the Objectives

There are several areas that the author believes could be further improved or enhanced in the future. For this project, the author has only emphasized the basic concepts underlying each of the elements and finding the relationship that links them together. In the future it would be better if the research focused intensively on only one area, for example exclusively on site management.

For example, perhaps based on the fundamentals of site management, the author can come up with a framework or prototype of the tool that enables effective site management according to the business needs rather than relying on the tools provided on the Internet. The author would also like to go more in depth about the content management by highlighting the process of choosing the right mechanism or tool to handle the content. In terms of usability, the author only succeeds in covering the availability of the information that the user of a website needs.

For example, it would be better for the user to see the result based on a working application with full functionality and back-end architecture. Add additional features such as a GIS site map or a virtual tour to add more interactivity to the site. We hope that all the facts and findings included in this project will meet the expectations of the previously stated objectives.

The project somehow highlighted the importance of understanding the role of website and content management which does affect the usability of a website.

COMPILATION OF GUIDELINES AND TIPS

Most websites are built simply because an executive told someone to do it, without telling them what the site was supposed to accomplish. The site should be designed with the needs of the customer in mind and not to promote grand ideas of self-interest. Admittedly, it is easiest to divide responsibility for the site's divisions and departments according to pre-existing command chains and budget categories, but this results in an internally centered site rather than one.

A classic sign of a mismanaged website is when the home page has a button for each of the Senior Vice Presidents in the company. If every new web project is outsourced to a new agency, the site will end up looking like one of those quilts pieced together by each of the participants in a protest march. Consistency is the key to useful interaction design: when all interfaces look and function the same, users feel more confident using the site because they can transfer their learning from one sub-site to the next rather than having to do it all over again on the next page to have to learn.

If a potential customer becomes interested in a new product or special offer, they shouldn't be forced to figure out how to navigate the page from the homepage to the product page. The Internet should be considered one of the most important determinants of how our business will fare in the future. The impact of networks grows with at least the square of the number of connections, and the true value of the Internet will only be seen after extensive restructuring of business processes.

Keep an eye out for dead ends where users have nowhere to go but using the 'Back' button and content loops where users can get caught and only exit the loop by exiting the site.
