RANAU: More than 500 residents from 80 houses in Kg Kigiok completed three recreational huts here in an effort to beautify and cheer up the village.
Three recreational huts, each named Angrek, Bersatu and Cempaka huts, were successfully built through a ‘Cooperation-Cooperation’ agreement among the residents.
Chairman of JPKK Kg Kigiok, Jasni Bin Litah said, the initiative was carried out based on the motto of ‘bersatu teguh, bercerai roboh’ and Agreement Brings Blessings.
Based on the agreement, he said the residents wished to create Pondok Rekreasi which they thought would be able to create happiness in the village as well as a source of income for the residents who would provide various products to tourists in the future.
“Actually, the cost of creating part of the construction of this recreation hut was contributed by Ranau MP, Datuk Jonathan Yasin and Ranau Rabbit Farm Kigiok Tourism operator, Wong Ko Siong.
“The residents are grateful for the help of Datuk Jonathan, Wong and the contribution of energy from the residents of Kg Kigiok,” explained Jasni.
He appealed to philanthropists to help the residents to donate equipment such as Cement, stone, sand and wire for materials to repair the drainage system near the recreational huts that were built.
