This research paper, enclosed herein, titled “The Role of the Lucky Belief: Mediating Deceitful Flatism and Attitudes Toward Singlehood,” was prepared and submitted by “Heng Zeng Qing and Chin Joey” in part to fulfill the requirements for the Bachelor of Social Science (Hons) Psychology is hereby accepted. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the mediating effect of happiness beliefs between lying flatism and attitudes towards being single. The sections consisted of demographic data, questionnaires on control variables – negative stereotyping of single people (NSSP) and fear of being single (FBSS), a pre-manipulation item for feelings about lying flatism, essay for.

Because gender, singleness and the fear of being single are controlled, the current study shows that these are significant. It also supported the relationship between feelings about lying flatism and attitudes about being single. The findings from this study may contribute to the possible reason for individuals' attitudes towards being single.

Mediating lying flatism and attitudes toward singlehood” submitted is the end result of our own work, and acknowledgment is given in the references to all sources, whether printed, electronic or in person.

Introduction

Therefore, it is important to examine the relationship between feelings toward lying flatism and attitudes toward singlehood and its underlying mechanism among young adults. To examine the relationship between feelings towards lying flatism and attitudes towards singlehood among young adults in Malaysia. Examining the mediating role of happiness belief in the relationship between feelings toward lying flatism and attitudes toward singleness among young adults in.

RQ1: Do feelings toward lying flatulence positively predict attitudes toward celibacy among young people in Malaysia. RQ4: Does happiness belief mediate the relationship between feelings toward false flatulence and attitudes toward singleness among Malaysian youth. H1: Feelings towards false flatulence can positively predict attitudes towards celibacy among young people in Malaysia.

H4: The happiness belief mediates the relationship between feelings about lying flatism and attitudes towards singleness among young adults in Malaysia.

Literature Review

With this, individuals who have feelings toward lying flatism are predicted to have positive attitudes toward singlehood, as the relief of being single without the disappointment of seeking a romantic relationship is desirable. Therefore, young adults who have feelings of lying flatism are expected to have positive attitudes toward singlehood, since they feel good about being single (no longer afraid of the intrusion of others). Meanwhile, according to Darrington et al. 2005), strengthening the emotional bond with friends may promote the development of positive attitudes toward singlehood.

Individuals who practice lying flatism avoid having a romantic relationship, marriage, and children (Chen, 2021; DW News, 2021; Jiang, 2021). In short, according to the brief discussion above, it is predicted that individuals who have feelings towards lying flatism believe that their happiness can be achieved without engaging in a romantic relationship, as they are able to reduce stress when they remain single, and thus improve one's subjective happiness. . Therefore, happiness belief may predict positive attitudes towards singleness, as high life satisfaction is desirable to remain single.

A conceptual framework of the relationship between feelings toward liar patism, beliefs about happiness, and attitudes toward singleness.

Methodology

Therefore, without a complete list of the target population for the selection process, random sampling method is not applicable in this study. Participants were randomly assigned to one of the two groups: experimental group or control group through Qualtrics randomiser. To measure the effectiveness of the manipulation, participants will be asked to rate a single item created for feelings against lying flatism and continue with the rest of the instruments in this study.

Both Cronbach alpha and McDonald omega coefficients in the study by Tan et al. 2021) was greater than 0.82, indicating excellent reliability of the scale. Participants were directed to the rest of the study once they had completed the essay. Before the end of the study, participants were debriefed about the actual purpose and procedures of the study.

Hayes' Process Macro v4.0 (Model 4) was used in testing a mediational model (Hayes, 2013) of the relationship between emotions toward fakeness, beliefs about happiness, and attitudes toward singleness.

Result

Regarding work status, the majority of the participants were currently studying participants (8.2%) were currently employed, and 3. Results show that there is a significant difference in the feelings towards lying flatism for experimental group (M = . 32, SD = .717) and. Referring to table 4.4, the independent sample t-test result for the feelings towards lying flatism before writing the essay was not significantly different between both.

Paired Samples The t-Test was administered to determine whether there is a difference in feelings about lying flatism before and after writing the essay. Pearson's correlation coefficient (r) was calculated to examine the strength of the relationship between two variables. Referring to Table 4.6, after controlling for gender, singleness, and fear of being single, the results showed that feelings toward lying flatism have a low and positive significant correlation with both happiness beliefs, rp < .001, and attitudes toward of being single, rp < . 001.

In addition, there was a moderate and positive significant correlation between happiness belief and attitudes towards singleness, r p <.001. Regression analysis was applied to examine the regression of feelings towards lying flatulence on happiness belief and attitudes towards singlehood. The result with gender, singleness, and fear of being single controlled indicated that feelings toward lying flatulence was a significant predictor of attitudes toward singleness, B = 1.12, SE CI β.

It aimed to investigate whether happiness belief mediated the relationship between feelings toward false flattery and attitudes toward singleness, controlling for gender, singleness, and fear of being single. As both the direct and indirect effect were statistically significant, it was shown that mediation occurred in the current study, that is, happiness belief is able to mediate between feelings toward false flattery and attitudes toward singleness. The above mediation model illustrated the unstandardized regression coefficients for the relationship between feelings toward false flattery and attitudes toward singleness, mediated by happiness belief, with singleness and fear of being single controlled.

The unstandardized regression coefficients for total effect between feelings toward lying flatism and attitudes toward singleness are in parentheses. H3: The belief of happiness has a positive relationship with attitudes towards singleness among young adults in Malaysia.

In addition, we would also like to examine the mediating role of happiness beliefs (the belief that happiness can be achieved without a romantic relationship) in the relationship between feelings towards lying flatism and attitudes towards singlehood among young adults in Malaysia. In contrast, if you write an essay about the weather, you belong to the controlled group without feeling anything about lying flatism.
