COURSE SYLLABUS Course Code : 6ANIMPORT

Prerequisite : 6ANIM2D

Course Credit : 3 Units (3 hours LEC) Year Level: 3RD/4TH year Degree Program : BSIT with Area of Specialization in Animation

Course Description:

This course introduces students to the importance of compiling, assessing and appraising animation outputs to be used for marketability and referencing. It focuses on the design and execution of a professional portfolio that will represent the student's skills in animation. The course will also cover self-promotion, resumes and reel distribution. Students will also be exposed in other

variations of animation in relation to the many different fields and industry of animation.

At the end of the course, students will be able to:

Identify range of visual design and communication techniques available and select appropriate one to meet the creative, technical and production of creative

resume, personal blogs, animation portfolio and flat book;

Gather and analyze relevant materials, media and information based on their compatibility on the specifications given for the required product/output - creative resume, personal blogs, animation portfolio and flat book; and

Validate and coordinate all relevant factors which may determine and affect visual design and communication concepts and applications

BSEMC04: Identify and analyze user needs and take them into account in the selection, creation, evaluation and administration of computer-based systems/creative works

C2 Review creative solutions with regards to design guidelines, appropriateness to the user/audience and technical feasibility;

Formulate set of alternative solutions to address design problems; and

Create designs and models with resourcefulness, imagination, insight, originality, aesthetic judgment, enterprise and risk taking approach to meet specified user/audience needs with appropriate consideration for public health and safety, cultural, societal, and

environmental considerations

BSEMC05: Design, implement, and evaluate computer- based systems/designs or multimedia products, processes, components, or programs to meet desired needs and requirements under various constraints

C3 Independently source necessary knowledge, assistance, skills and resources to complete tasks;

Perform tasks independently without the need for prodding;

Coordinate with other business professionals and

professionals from other disciplines to achieve goals and complete tasks; and

Collaborate and comply with the assigned tasks or assignments which might have a great impact on the needs and satisfaction in the accomplishment of a goal.

BSEMC07: Function effectively as a member or leader of multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams, recognizing the different roles within a team to accomplish a common goal.

C4 Write effective reports and documentations about the results of performing specific computing and professional tasks/creative designs and multimedia production tasks;

Develop effective presentation material that will enhance understanding of ideas being communicated;

Deliver presentations effectively and efficiently to various audience (computing community, society at large, and users) using English and Filipino as needed, with

appropriate tone, correct grammar and construction; and Choose appropriate language suitable to the audience and respectful to the audience background and culture

BSEMC09: Communicate effectively with the computing community and with society at large about complex computing activities through logical writing, presentations, and clear instructions in both English and Filipino.

the societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues involved and the impact to these to such decisions; and Act upon the consequential social, moral, legal and professional responsibilities

C6 Consistently conform to the professional code of ethics, and professional norms governing the performance of computing activities;

Perform responsibilities and accept accountability of the consequences of not performing responsibilities as expected; and

Consider the effects and impact of entertainment and multimedia computing projects on nature, society and of their social and ethical responsibilities

BSEMC11: Understand professional, ethical, moral, legal, security and social issues and responsibilities in the utilization of information technology
