BASIC DRAWING COURSE SYLLABUS

Course Credit : 3 Units (3 hours LAB) Year Level: 1ST year Degree Program : BSIT with Area of Specialization in Animation
Course Description:
The course is designed to introduce basic drawing techniques. It teaches the students how to represent accurately and proportionately lines, values, spaces, textures, objects, planes, mass and volumes by developing hand-to-eye coordination with line and tone with the analysis of its psychological content .Basics of perspective are covered in various exercises augmented by critiques, slide lectures, and discussions. The student will also develop sensitivity to the structure, anatomy and expressive qualities of the animal and human form in a variety of ways. Museum, gallery visits and student critiquing are also a part of the curriculum.
These will enhance students’ analytical writing about their own work, the historical art and contemporary issues, at the same time developing the student’s own style of drawing.
At the end of the course, students will be able to:

C4 Develop studies on various designs and concepts for backgrounds and
character designs including gestures, turn-arounds, and impressions for
