II. Course Name: ARNIS AND DISARMING TECHNIQUES

III. Course Description: The course deals with the study and practice of martial arts as a means of self-defense for law enforcement officer.

The study puts emphasis on special instructions in physical conditioning, unarmed defense against knife and club attacks. Also includes the application of the different principles of karate-do, aiko-do, long stick, police baton, taekwondo, so with Thai boxing and other forms of martial arts.

IV. Course Learning Outcomes:

CLO1: Demonstrate competence and broad understanding in providing important knowledge with disarming techniques, necessary in law enforcement administration, public safety.

CLO2: Collaborate effectively and independently in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams about defenses used in kali/eskrima/arnis.

CLO3: Engage in lifelong learning and understanding of different techniques and become familiar relative with the kali/eskrima/arnis CLO4: Apply professional, social, and ethical standards in the practice of disarming techniques

XI. Computation of Grades: The passing score is 50% of the total items in the examinations, while the passing grade for the semester is 75%

or 3.00. The basis for the computation of the semester grade is as follows:

Midterm grade: 70% Class standing and 30% midterm examination Final Grade: 70% Class standing and 30% final examination

Semester grade: 50% midterm grade and 50% final grade
