GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY Mt. 9:32-38) The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew,

A demoniac who could not speak was brought to Jesus, and when the demon was driven out the mute person spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.” Jesus went around to all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the gospel of kingdom, and curing every disease and illness. At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd.

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.”

Reflections:

The good example of Jesus in the gospel is an expression of his infinite love for us. Our Lord is inviting all of us to do good things just like what he did in the gospel . Doing beautiful things to others and making ourselves the living witness of Christ love is a true manifestation of Christ mission and propagation of his Kingdom.

Prayer:

Let us pray…

Lord God, lead us to do your will and make our life meaningful by acknowledging all things that is happening to us. Make us to become the living witness of your kingdom. We ask this through Christ our Lord . Amen.

St. John Baptist de la Salle………….Pray for us!

Live Jesus in our Hearts ………Forever!

From the GS- Christian Living with Character Education Department Tremendous Values of the Holy Mass

Through the Holy Mass you are blessed in your temporal goods and affairs. When you hear Holy Mass devoutly, offering it to Almighty God in honour of any particular Saint or Angel, thanking God for the favours bestowed on him, etc., you afford that Saint or Angel a new degree of honour, joy and happiness, and draw his special love and protection on yourself.

Every time you assist at Holy Mass, besides other intentions, you should offer it in honor of the Saint of the day. (to be continued…) http://catholic-and-christian.blogspot.com/2010/09/tremendous-value-of-holy-mass.html

Objective: Increase awareness on the role nutrition and physical activity in preventing overweight and obesity

Continuation… Health Benefits of Exercise

Reduce stress: Exercise reduces stress and can also lower your blood pressure. There are so many ways that exercise helps to reduce stress, including “runner’s high,” relaxation and distraction.

Makes you stronger: Obviously, exercise makes you stronger. By building up certain muscles, you will notice that you can accomplish certain tasks much easier than you used to be able to. Remember that different exercises work out different muscle groups. So, if you want to get stronger arms, try rowing, swimming or weightlifting. If you want stronger legs, there is running, cycling and the step machine, among many more! The more you exercise, the less trouble you’ll have down the road when you’re exercising and the less risk you’ll have of getting injured.

Flex: By exercising your body and stretching every time (it’s really important to stretch before and after you exercise), you’ll improve your body’s flexibility. When you are a little girl, you are really flexible. As you get older, you lose a lot of that flexibility. By stretching your body, you will help to keep some of that flexibility from when you were younger. Flexibility is important because it helps to keep you from getting injured during your workout and keeps your muscles limber.
