GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Mt. 15:29-37) The Holy Gospel according to St. Matthew,

Jesus walked by the Sea of Galilee, went up on the mountain, and sat down there. Great crowds came to him, having with them the lame, the blind, the deformed, the mute, and many others. They placed them at his feet, and he cured them.

The crowds were amazed when they saw the mute speaking, the deformed made whole, the lame walking, and the blind able to see, and they glorified the God of Israel.

Jesus summoned his disciples and said, “My heart is moved with pity for the crowd, for they have been with me now for three days and have nothing to eat. I do not want to send them away hungry, for fear they may collapse on the way.” The disciples said to him, “Where could we ever get enough bread in this deserted place to satisfy such a crowd?” Jesus said to them, “How many loaves do you have?” “Seven,” they replied, “and a few fish.” He ordered the crowd to sit down on the ground. Then he took the seven loaves, and gave them to the disciples, who in turn gave them to the crowds. They all ate and were satisfied. They picked up the fragments left over – seven baskets full.

Reflection:

Today’s Gospel describes what is Holy Eucharist all about. God knows our human needs, He knows that we need to eat, be healed and be restored to the fullness of life. The gathering of the congregations during Eucharistic Celebrations is a gathering of people who are wounded, lame, blind, deformed, mute not only physically but spiritually and morally.

Knowing our situation, Jesus instituted the Sacrament of Thanksgiving, the Holy Eucharist to heal our deformities and be united once again to Him in the communion. When we receive Jesus in the Holy Communion we are not only partaking in His body but we belong to One Mystical Body of Jesus. May we be united with Him today in our noonday mass.

Prayer:

Let us pray…

Be with us Lord today and fill the emptiness in us. Amen.

St. John Baptist De La Salle…Pray for us!

Live Jesus in our hearts…Forever!

“Daily Meal with God”

What does the word Advent mean?

The word comes from the Latin "adventus," which means "arrival," referring to the coming of the Messiah. While the season clearly deals with the anticipation of Jesus' birth, celebrated on Christmas, it also has certain connotations to the Second Coming, when the Messiah brings salvation and judgment.

Thank you so much Mass sponsors today. As we prepare for Jesus’ coming, may we request all classes to be present at the Eucharistic celebration tomorrow.

FROM THE OVCAD – INSTITUTIONAL HEALTH SERVICES:

cont...ENT Disorders Ear Infections

Ear infections occur when germs enter the ear and become trapped there. Symptoms of ear infections include:

• pain

• hearing loss

• balance problems

• recent upper respiratory infections

• drainage from the ear (perforation of the tympanic membrane)

Small children are more likely to have ear infections. Signs of an ear infection in your child may include:

• irritability that escalates at bedtime

• balance problems

• fever

Some children may pull or tug at their ears. If the infection goes untreated for long periods of time, it can cause delays in their development, such as hearing and speech delays. If your child has chronic ear infections, your doctor may choose to surgically put small tubes inside your child's ear; these are called "myringotomy tubes."
