GOD’S WORDS FOR TODAY (Lk. 5:17-26) The Holy Gospel according to St. Luke,
One day as Jesus was teaching, Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was with him for healing. And some men brought on a stretcher a man who was paralyzed; they were trying to bring him in and set him in his presence. But not finding a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the roof and lowered him on the stretcher through the tiles into the middle in front of Jesus. When he saw their faith, he said, “As for you, your sins are forgiven.” Then the scribes and Pharisees began to ask themselves, “Who is this who speaks blasphemies? Who but God alone can forgive sins?” Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them in reply, “What are you thinking in your hearts? Which is easier, to say, “Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins” – he said to the man who was paralyzed, “I say to you, rise, pick up your stretcher, and go home.” He stood up immediately before them, picked up what he had been lying on, and went home, glorifying God. Then astonishment seized them all and they glorified God, and, struck with awe, they said, “We have seen incredible things today.”
Reflection:
The friends of the paralyzed man wanted him to be well; but much as they desire they cannot heal him. The most that they can do is to bring him to Jesus. Who can really heal us of all our sufferings? Who can liberate us from all our sinfulness?
Who has the power to totally cleanse us? Only God, Only Jesus! Waste no time, effort; He is coming, welcome Him. He alone can heal us.
Let us pray…
Lord, we are weak and wounded. Have mercy on us; heal us. Amen.
St. John Baptist De La Salle…Pray for us!
Live Jesus in our hearts…Forever!

8 Things You Need to Know About the Immaculate Conception
Dec. 8th is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception. What is the Immaculate Conception and how do we celebrate it?
1. Who does the Immaculate Conception refer to?
There's a popular idea that it refers to Jesus' conception by the Virgin Mary.
It doesn't.
Instead, it refers to the special way in which the Virgin Mary herself was conceived.
This conception was not virginal. (That is, she had a human father as well as a human mother.) But it was special and unique in another way. . . .(to be continued..) http://www.ncregister.com/blog/jimmy-akin/8-things-you-need- to-know-about-the-immaculate-conception
Since Dec. 8 is one of the 3 Holy Days of obligation, we are obliged to hear mass tomorrow.
Thank you so much Mass sponsors today. As we prepare for Jesus’ coming, may we request all classes to be present at the Eucharistic celebration on Wednesday.

Syria’s civil war is the worst humanitarian disaster of our time. The number of innocent civilians suffering — more than 11 million people are displaced, thus far — and the increasingly dire impact on neighboring countries can seem too
overwhelming to understand.

How to Prevent ENT Problems
Ear, nose and throat problems can occur in a number of different ways. The ear, nose and throat are inter-connected so the problems in one area can often affect the other, such as ear pain can be a symptom of a build-up of fluid or infection that extends from the throat. Here are some tips to prevent ENT problems.
• Avoid contact with infected people (that is who have cough, cold or flu like symptoms). Most of the sore throats, cold and flu are viral infections which are transmitted from one person to another.
• Wash hand frequently and thoroughly with soap and water as this helps to destroy viruses that are acquired from touching contaminated surfaces. If you don’t have access to soap and water alcohol based hand sanitizers can be used.
• Try not to touch your eyes, nose or mouth as germs often spread from hands (hands get contaminated when you touch something that is contaminated and then when you touch your eyes, nose, or mouth you get infected).
