IV. MSNPROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs) The MSN graduates are expected to:
1. Utilize their understanding of the context of nursing practice in initiating actions or interventions and in planning and evaluating programs and policies for specific work settings/foci: client care; nursing education;
nursing research; and nursing leadership, governance, and management;
2. Demonstrate critical thinking and effective communication in nursing practice: client care; nursing education; nursing research; and nursing leadership, governance, and management;

addressing their health needs and problems, and in collaborating with other members of the health team;

An Angelite MSN student is able to demonstrate and master the ability to:

VI. COURSE DESCRIPTION
In this course, students will study advanced management and leadership models and roles. The course will analyze the underlying premises, theories, research, and state of the art models and practices regarding current and future challenges facing the profession of nursing administration.
The contents of this module will include the introduction of leadership and management in general; preparations for the assumption of a role of the nurse leader in today's healthcare environment; the creation of inter-professional collaborative teams; the focus on specific and vital roles of management; and nursing becoming transformational leaders in today’s world.
The student may apply this knowledge in their future development of realizable objectives for an organization and whatever expectations that an advance nurse manager may provide for the organization.

At the end of the module, the students will be able to:
1) Equip themselves substantially, knowledge-wise, of the theories and discussions laid down in this module;
2) Draw objectives of how to integrate pertinent leadership and management models in the nursing profession;
3) Develop tools to facilitate the key roles in nursing management like the staffing, controlling, and delegation;
4) Demonstrate critical thinking in assigning problems, issues and concerns in managing a unit or department; and
5) Inspire themselves in assuming a role of a transformational leader in the nursing profession.
