RESEARCHER : [NAME/S OF STUDENT/S]
ADVISER : [NAME OF ADVISER]
SCHOOL : De La Salle Araneta University
DEGREE CONFERRED : [Degree Conferred]
The abstract should not exceed 250 words, written in one paragraph. The thesis / dissertation title should be in upper and lower case with a period at the end. The graduation month and year will be in parentheses. Your name and your adviser’s name are in all capital letters. The school’s name is in upper and lower case letters. Place Dr.
(or Mr./Ms. if adviser does not have a doctoral degree) before the adviser’s name. The text of the Abstract starts two double spaces below the preliminary lines. The text of the Abstract is double-spaced according to the spacing style of the text of the thesis / dissertation. Follow the same margin settings as your narrative text, as well as the same alignment (justified). Your Abstract must be a “complete snapshot” of your manuscript.
Paragraph one introduces your specific problem and the methods used. The remaining paragraphs present the research and results in detail. Text of the Abstract must not exceed 2 pages (this does not include preliminary lines). Any term (or numeral) with a space on either side is counted as one word.
[Use this as a guide in creating headings in the text]
Heading 1 Heading 2
Heading 3.Indent the first line of every paragraph. The manuscript is double-spaced for readability. There is no need for extra spaces between headings and body text. To avoid extra spacing, check that the spacing between paragraphs is set to 0 pt. To do this, on the Home tab, under Paragraph, click Line Spacing, and then click Line Spacing Options. Under Spacing, in the Before or After boxes, enter 0 pt.
Heading 4. Align the text to the justified margin.
Heading 5. Now I will introduce a block quotation.
For a block quotation, indent the entire paragraph one half inch. Double space between body text and the block quotation as well as between lines in the block quotation. Use the same size typeface for the rest of the paper. Don’t forget to cite the source of your quotation (Source, year, page number)
