Academic teaching staff are faculty members hired to create an effective teaching and learning environment and facilitate regular instruction in the classroom, laboratory, clinical, and community settings. They are expected to possess core implementation competencies that will produce healthcare professionals who are innovative, research-oriented, transformative, collaborative and compassionate caregivers of life.
Duties and Responsibilities
However, if redeployment is NOT possible, he/she will be paid the cash equivalent of the leave. However, equivalent points for the program are considered only after the completion of the program. The middle allowance is paid on the date that coincides with the payment of the 13th monthly salary.
FACULTY CLASSIFICATION AND APPOINTMENT
Full-Time Faculty
A full-time faculty member who has not yet been granted permanent status by the institution is a probationary faculty member. A permanent member of the faculty is one who has met the criteria for stability in the institution confirmed by the Academic Personnel Evaluation Board (APEB). A full-time faculty member on probation who has performed well for three (3) consecutive years and who has earned a professional teaching license may be granted permanent status.

Regular Workload
A teaching load of 18 hours per week, prepared by the Academic Chair in consultation with the faculty. The teaching load is given to the faculty at least one month before the start of classes. Any teaching load beyond the maximum of 18 hours per week will be considered overload, subject to compensation and approval of the Principal.

Service Hours
During exam week, faculty members are required to provide fifteen (15) hours of attendance and must be present during their proctoring, exam schedule for the subject being taught, scheduled meetings, and other delegated functions. However, they should report in the school during grading, consultation and submission and other important functions/activities of the department/institution when their presence is required.

Absence of no more than seven (7) days is permitted, but will be charged to the ATF/ASF salary. This policy provides for the annual evaluation as part of the academic operation of the Institute. FACULTY OVER-ALL PERFORMANCE EVALUATION
Definition
This is an assessment made by the Director/Academic Chair to determine the teaching competence and work efficiency of faculty members. This is the assessment that students make to determine the competence and efficiency of faculty members in their teaching. This is an evaluation made by a faculty member of another faculty member within his/her department to determine the competence and efficiency of his/her colleague.

This term refers to the process used to promote or reclassify a faculty to another rank/level upon completion of an academic degree or submission of relevant documents. This happens at the end of an academic year (promotion) or during the semester/term (rank reclassification). This term refers to the transfer of a faculty to another rank/level at any time during the semester/term after completion of an academic degree and submission of supporting documents to APEB.
Academic Ranks of the Faculty
Master's Degree holder (with specialization) in specialization, at least 5 years of direct teaching experience in high school or college, at least 3.5 results from performance evaluation verbally described as Exceeds expectations. 18 units in PhD, at least 5 years of direct teaching experience in high school or college, at least 3.5 results from performance evaluation verbally described as Exceeds expectations. Complete academic requirements in Ph.D., at least 7 years of direct teaching experience in high school or college, research/.
Guidelines for Promotion
Bachelor's Degree, 4 years of direct high school or college teaching experience, with 24 units in the master's degree program in the area of specialization, at least 2.5 Performance Evaluation results orally described as Meets Expectations. Bachelor's Degree, 5 years of direct high school or college teaching experience, with full academic requirements in the master's degree program in the area of specialization, at least 2.5 Performance Evaluation results orally described as Meets Expectations. PhD holder, with at least 7 years of direct teaching experience at a high school or college, 1 research project completed or published in a refereed journal, and a national-level paper presentation with at least 3.5 Performance evaluation results orally described as exceeding expectations.
Criteria for Faculty Ranking and Promotion
For CM FT-B ATF: Full-time B ATF of the College of Medicine is entitled to four and a half (4 .5) calendar days (including weekends, regular holidays and special working/non-working holidays) bereavement leave with full pay.
UNIFIED BENEFITS OF ACADEMIC TEACHING FACULTY
GENERAL PROVISIONS
CREDITED YEARS OF SERVICE - refers to years of service less absence without pay (LOAWOP) and is counted in/when calculating longevity, retirement and other specific benefits. Full-time B ATF (under the College of Medicine) and all part-time ATFs receive credited years of service on a basis commensurate with that earned by a Full-time ATF. Part-time ATF's credited years of service shall be considered for rank and promotion purposes only and NOT for tenure and lifetime pension eligibility.
THOSE MANDATED BY LAW
Pursuant to Republic Act 8972 (Solo Parent Welfare Act of 2000), an eligible ATF/ASF who falls under the definition of a solo parent shall be entitled to seven (7) working days with full pay. Pursuant to RA 9262 (Anti-Violence Against Women and Their Children Act of 2004), a female ATF/ASF who is a victim of violence under this Act shall be entitled to a paid leave of up to ten (10) days , extended when necessary. Pursuant to Republic Act 9710 (Women's Magna Carta), an eligible female ATF/ASF who underwent surgery caused by gynecological disorders shall be entitled to two (2) months leave with full pay .
EMPLOYEES COMPENSATION AND INSURANCE
In accordance with Republic Act 6728 (Government Assistance to Students and Teachers in Private Education Act), an ATF/ASF shall be entitled to a share in the 70% tuition fee incremental proceeds, which shall be provided by the end of January 1. semester of the current school year in the form of a permanent benefit that is acceptable to both ATF/ASF and the administration.

Full time ATF/ASF will be entitled to annual emergency/special leave with full pay. Full Time An ATF/ASF will be entitled to nine (9) calendar days (including weekends, regular holidays and special working/non-working holidays) bereavement leave with full pay. All full-time ATF/ASF will be entitled to one (1) day birthday leave with full pay.
CHRISTMAS BREAK
While on Full Time Study Leave, an ATF/ASF will NOT be eligible for promotion until completion of the program and/or resumption of all teaching/relevant activities. A permanent ATF/ASF with five (5) years of credited service is entitled to a thesis leave of absence for one (1) semester or two (2) terms with pay, provided a certification from the Dean of the Graduate School is presented attesting of the approval of the thesis proposal. Completion of the thesis at the end of the academic year of the enrolled graduate program will be required.

Eligibility is periodically reviewed and terminated when working conditions no longer warrant continued hazard pay. The institution must regularly update the ATF/ASF regarding BIR “de minimis” and other legal provisions.

STUDY GRANTS
If an ATF/ASF was awarded a foreign scholarship (maximum one year) approved by the Rector for Academics, he/she receives his/her salary for the corresponding duration of the study. For a foreign study grant, the equivalent of two (2) years of seniority is granted for each school year with study support.
EDUCATIONAL BENEFITS
Payment of said loan shall begin one (1) year after the loan has been drawn. As of June 2008, the physical and legally adopted children of full-time permanent ATF/ASFs can avail the scholarship as per EBPSP guidelines. Then the scholarship holders' dependents are still entitled to this benefit and the basis for the duration of the scholarship is still the number of years specified in the curriculum of the originally chosen course and the terms/semesters used.
HOSPITALIZATION, MEDICAL & DENTAL BENEFITS
Employees who are now in their 50s and have already completed 20 years of productive service at the institution and whose children are still in pre-primary and primary school, who could apply for the Brother President Scholarship Program (BPSP) but were enrolled in the Enhanced Brother President Scholarship Program (EBPSP), which was approved on May 15, 2008, can avail the 50% scholarship benefit. Employees whose children have already started higher education either at DLSU-D or here at DLSMHSI, but will see retirement before their children finish their studies, can continue with the scholarship until the start of their enrolled courses. and. Employees whose first child was eligible for BPSP and their second child is now covered under EBPSP can still avail the 100% tuition discount for their second child, applying the new EBPSP policies and guidelines.
PERMANENT TOTAL DISABILITY BENEFIT
For CM ATF: Legal dependents of ATF College of Medicine full-time employees up to SY 2009-2010 shall continue to enjoy the aforementioned hospitalization benefits, even after death or permanent disability (see Section O.2, this chapter), or retirement of The ATF (see section S.1b, this chapter). Legal Dependent, as used herein, includes legal spouse, legitimate or legally adopted, and illegitimate child who is unmarried, not gainfully employed and under the age of twenty-one (21).

PENSION SALARY = last corresponding FT-A daily wage rate on an FT-B X number of days X years of credited service. Example: minimum wage for an FT-B ATF with twenty (20) years of service (which is equivalent to 10 years of credited service) at a daily wage rate of Php.1,500/day. Example: minimum wage for a full-time ATF with five (5) years of seniority (equivalent to 5 years of credited service) with a daily wage rate of P3,000/day and with ten (10) years of service as a full-time B (equivalent to 5 year's credited year) with a daily wage rate of Php1,500/day.
