Atrstract

This research undertaking, which used the descriptive method, was conducted primariiy

to

determine the library users' needs and their satisfaction

with

library collection,

staff

seru--ices and physical fbcilities.

It

involved 420 participants who were predominantly fernale, single and in the 17-18 age group. The questionnaire was utilized

lor

data collection and processed through the SPSS.

Weighted mean and Spearman's rho u'ere used

for

its statistical analyses. Findings show that the participants were satisfied or slightly satisfied

with

the

library

collection,

library

staff and library services. However, the participants indicated very satisfied

with

the physical

facilities.

The College

ofNursing

had the highest levei of satisfactir:n while rvith the College of Inf'ormation and

Communication Technologv the least satisfaction.

It

must also be pointed out that there rruas no significant relationship between the library users" frequency of

visit

to the

library

and their satisfaction with library collection" staf'f, sen'ices and physical

facilities

except with the Reserve books and Lending services. However, the said c.orrelation was negative which implies that as the participants frequency

ofvisits

^incr6ases their satisfaction decreases. To

achieve the aim of this research undertaking" the suggestions of the researcher herself and the

library

users

will

be integrated in a

priiner in order to create a positive impact on the improvement

of

the perlbrmance of

HAU

Library.
