During a ceremony at the Abbey Church of Our Lady of Montserrat on July 11, 2022, Rector President Fr. Kaye and Cathy joined the Bedan community in 2018 as Graduate School of Business students. It is typical for graduate school students that it is their professional responsibility to fight for the country and protect the leader of the Philippines.
Kaye is a First Lieutenant in the Army while Cathy is a Navy Lieutenant (equivalent to an Army Captain). They are optimistic that enriching their skills with a Bedan MBA degree will be valuable in performing their duties and advancing their military careers. Just two years later, in 1999, Ensign Arlene Dela Cruz became the first woman to graduate at the top of her class.

In a similar development, San Beda University's Bedan Research Journal is the recipient of the 2022 Recognition Award from the elite Andrew Gonzales Philippine Citation Index (AGPCI). Like ACI, AGPCI is a journal indexing and citation database serving academic journals in the country. The Scientia Journal and Bedan Research Journal recognition reflect the public's perception of San Beda University as a credible, inventive and efficient community of researchers and innovators who are committed to the highest standards of academic freedom, ethics and integrity.
