Steeped in dedication and compassion, PHC is truly the best cardiovascular hospital, where healthcare professionals care for our hearts. Over the years, PHC was founded with a purpose and it continues to exist thanks to the people who have given their utmost to 'Share & Care'. Yet everyone has contributed to the steady growth of PHC's financial performance.
More than ever, we are ready to take the big leap and broaden your horizons. Let new beginnings inspire you to continually look for better and brighter horizons for the institution. May we be inspired to continue our mandate in the service of your countrymen and to bring the world back.

THE CHALLENGES OF COVID-19 PANDEMIC
The COVID-19 Pandemic ICP TEAM at the Philippine Heart Center
A Fitting Response to the Difficult 23 weeks (and More) Challenge
There was full support from the Ministry of Health, especially for personal protective equipment (PPE) and other supplies. With the number of patients coming in due to COVID symptoms, PHC consumption for PPE increased to 1,500 per week. Some of the corporate monetary donations came from Okada, Globe Rewards, HSEi Inc., and additional funding from the Ministry of Health, along with daily donations from individuals and businesses for medical supplies and meals for approximately 300 daily hospital staff.
The ICP, in collaboration with the medical team, has identified the medical equipment to better meet the needs caused by the pandemic: two portable X-ray machines, two portable ultrasound machines and HEPA filters for the MAB clinics, and protective equipment. Over the past 23 weeks (and counting) we have seen the reality of the fear of the Covid 19 pandemic: (1) one colleague became ill at the same time as two of our dear primary care physicians - Dr. Raul Jara and his budding adult cardiology colleague , Dr. Israel Bactol as our early heroes who led us to learn and curb the inflammatory wave of the disease, of the 12.7% who have died (2) one healthcare worker admitted at the same time due to community transmission or those with suspected patient contact (81.7). % increase in July); (3) the increase in the number of clustered admissions of healthcare workers in the past two weeks (54% nurses, 17% non-medically affiliated staff). Each of the respective departments has developed its return to work policy, tailored to the hospital staff and the patient. safety protocols to prevent COVID transmission.
Outpatient clinics for both service and private patients have reopened following newly outlined safety protocols. Outpatient diagnostic services were also opened to initially accommodate a limited number of patients per day to allow adequate disinfection between patients. It may be wrong to assume that we will ever return to "normal". This could be the test of resilience to achieve our New Normal breakthroughs: (1) Increase in the number of patients served with better outcomes on par with global standards in the midst of the Covid pandemic; (2) Increase in patient and employee safety as a Covid 19 response.
WEF 2020's Robert Mortiz describes the 5 action points of the Great Covid 19 Reset: (1) Fix – because we need to be available tomorrow, we need to fix tomorrow's problems; (2) Rethink – we can try, but we may not get back to where we were before; (3) Reconfigure: the biggest challenge is to make things happen; (4) Restart - simply start things over; (5) last but not least - Report. We can adapt and survive this very well, as action, monitoring and reporting have always been the culture of PHC to management excellence. For 45 years, the Philippine Heart Center has remained committed to its mandate of providing excellent cardiovascular care that is accessible to all.
As the COVID-19 pandemic remains a challenge to health systems worldwide, PHC has been resilient and evolved, responding positively to the growing demand for care for people with COVID-19 while trying to maintain the provision of routine heart and lung health services. blood vessel. . The blessing and ceremonial opening of the new emergency room and molecular laboratory is another milestone of the PHC. Our quest to provide the best medical services and world-class facilities continues in the midst of the pandemic because service to Filipinos has kept our passion to make the best, excellent medical services.
