MSU-IIT was ranked among the 551-600. universities in Asia in 2022 by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). In 2022 Webometrics, MSU-IIT moved up a rank, landing 5th place among Philippine universities. These forces have led MSU-IIT management to set its strategic direction to sustain the gains it has made as it moves forward into the next 10 years.

MSU-IIT is aware of its role as a higher education institution in a region that holds great promise and potential. To support the strategic thrusts of the MSU system, MSU-IIT lays down six pillars of vision that align with the goals of the Philippines as outlined in AmBisyon Natin 2040 and the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028. MSU-IIT understands that the higher education landscape has evolved to become dynamic as political, economic, social, technological and environmental forces of the world continue to experience changes and advances.

MSU-IIT will do this by improving access to and inclusion in tertiary and advanced education. Within the framework of MSU-IIT's 10-year vision pillars and strategic goals in education, research and innovation, student support, public service, management and infrastructure, the University sets specific performance targets for the period 2022-2026. MSU-IIT believes that these goals and targets can lead us to the realization of the 10-year vision.

MSU-IIT has continuously expanded the number of research and innovation initiatives over the decades.

With the inevitable transition to Education 4.0 to meet the demands of Industry 4.0, MSU-IIT believes it is important that its students, academic staff and administrative staff have a conducive environment to realize their full potential and ultimately increase public value. This would require investment in much-needed infrastructure to support teaching and learning, research and innovation, and public service and social engagement. The Medium-Term Infrastructure Development Plan outlines the major physical facilities MSU-IIT dreams of to support its efforts toward its 10-year vision.

This is a four-storey building that will house the four departments of CEBA - Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Tourism. The ground floor will include four sections of the college, the dean's office and the faculty lounge. The college has for a long time used the existing facilities in the old building in CEBA.

Specifically, this will house a state-of-the-art Learning Commons with a library; fully equipped offices of student organizations; a sufficiently spacious cafeteria; a fully equipped indoor sports facility and wellness center; a space for all offices providing student support services; multipurpose rooms for various student activities; and a student lounge where students can interact, develop their social skills or simply take a break from the demands of academic work. Facilitating the establishment of a marine protected area around the coastal areas of Iligan City was also part of the department's expansion project. Recently, the Department of Marine Science has been engaged in critically important research activities with the University of the Philippines-Marine Science Institute through the National Academic Research Fleet (NARFLEET) project.

In this major project, the Department of Marine Science is offered the opportunity to host and co-manage one research vessel that will be used to conduct research around the Sulu Sea/South Sea. This project was created in response to the need to improve the capacity for ocean research and assist the government in science-based management of the country's marine resources. As it is one of the newest departments of the College of Science and Mathematics, there is a need to establish a marine science building that will meet the need for teaching, research, expansion and production.

Currently, the Department of Marine Sciences shares resources with the Department of Biological Sciences. The growing population of the undergraduate and postgraduate students and the increasing number of research and extension projects of the department require an adequate and suitable place for learning and research, with common spaces for scientific and social interactions between faculty, students, researchers, staff and others stakeholders contributing to an atmosphere of intellectual exchange. The 6,134 square meters of dry land is a very good place for building work in marine science because it is very accessible to the sea.

By securing the land, it is therefore imperative that we can utilize it and construct a state-of-the-art building for the Department of Marine Sciences. In addition, as DMSC is seeking higher recognition from the Higher Learning Commission as a Center of Excellence, it is highly recommended that the University establish a Marine Science Building. The main output of the project will be an infrastructure that will be used as a space for research and development.

AUDITORIUM

In addition, the new building will greatly help the College to have its own building after all its achievements and contributions to the University; to be the best in the Philippine Nursing Licensure Examinations and also to produce superior. Since the start of the Nursing program in 2003, it has been hosted on the fourth floor of the Engineering and Technology Complex. As a center of excellence and development, MSU-IIT will continue to provide quality education and extension programs relevant to the development framework in Northern Mindanao.

This infrastructure project is also aligned with the President's eight-point agenda, where it will help reduce vulnerability and mitigate the scars of the COVID-19 pandemic by addressing health, strengthening social protection and addressing learning loss, and creating quality jobs by increasing employability and promoting research. and development and innovation, strengthening the digital economy. Furthermore, the significant impact of this proposal will benefit the development of Mindanao by meeting MSU-IIT vision, mission and goals, specifically, initiating and undertaking manpower needs specifically in the provision of health care services within the economic and social development plan for Mindanao and the whole country as well. It will be a four-story building consisting of one main theater with 500 seats with flexible seating configuration; one 100-seat black box theater; one 100-seat choir and band practice hall; one performance laboratory with 100 seats for theatre; one art museum gallery; three music studios; three dance and theater rehearsal studios; three visual arts studios; three multimedia and recording studios; two design studios for costumes, sets and props; two postgraduate research student spaces; seven cultural and arts research offices with provision for props and costume storage; two large faculty offices with lounge and pantry; one library; two learning communities; two conference rooms; eight classrooms, and one utility room. This complex aims to become a self-sustaining research and production facility that contributes to the knowledge generation and dissemination efforts of the University and to the strengthening of our national identity through collaborative culture and artistic pursuits.

The MSU-IIT Cultural Center will be a world-class cultural and social venue for the promotion and development of the culture and heritage of Mindanao, in particular, and Philippine culture, in general. It will also serve as a space to nurture talent in MSU-IIT's Academy of Performing Arts as well as students. The main goal of the project is to enhance and enhance MSU-IIT's ICT infrastructure and system to continuously provide cost-effective and sustainable intelligent solutions in addressing the university's growing dependence on Information Technology as it fulfills its mission to foster academic excellence. knowledge discoveries, innovation and community engagement, while complying with existing laws and regulations set forth by the Philippine Government, such as R.A.
