º≈°√–∑∫®“°°“√‚°à߇¥“–‡©æ“–∑’ˇªìπ®”π«π√âÕ¬≈– 52 ¢ÕßÀπ⓵—¥∑’Ë¡’Õ¬Ÿà

ABSTRACT

Cold-formed steel has been widely used in construction due to higher strength and lighter weight than typical hot rolled steel. Its popularity come from economy in transportation and handling, quick and simple erection, and increasing span length.

However, cold-formed steel cross-section is slender and susceptible to local buckling before the section can develop yielding. Flexural strength and compressive strength of cold-formed steel section must be calculated referring to Engineering Institute of Thailand Standard (EIT) 1020-53 corresponding to effective width concept. Engineer must calculate effective area and effective section modulus considering to the local buckling. Form the analyses, 52 percents and 18 percents of the Thai Industrial Standard (TIS 1238-2549) of cold-formed steel products are not fully effective for compression member and flexural member respectively.
