A Critical Reading Development in Matayomsuksa 5 Students Using SQ5R Method via Newspapers
The purpose of this research was 1) to find out the effectiveness of a critical reading development in Matayomsuksa 5 students using the SQ5R method via Aviser's lesson plan, of 80/80 2) to compare the students' achievement of critical reading skills before and after learning using the SQ5R method via newspapers and 3) to study Mattayomsuksa 5 students' satisfaction in learning critical reading. The instruments included 6 critical reading using SQ5R via newspapers plans, critical reading performance test 40 items and students' satisfaction questionnaire towards Critical Reading Development using SQ5R via newspapers.

The research was continued by collecting data from 13 villages of Nonsomboon sub-district administrative organization, Bueng Kan District, Bueng Kan Province, using purposive sampling through quota sampling of 3 villages. The findings revealed that 1) The Bueng Kan of Community is a mixed structure; the local community demanded urban development under the Smart Growth concept, especially about creating opportunities and choices of residences for all different income levels.

Genre-based Writing Instruction: Theme Analysis of EFL Expository Essays

In this article, EFL expository essays from graduate engineering students in an English-language master's program were examined in terms of theme marking and theme progression. The textual metafunction analysis showed a significant improvement in linguistic features in terms of theme marking and theme progression.
Introduction
Explicit teaching of a genre-based approach to writing has been suggested as a more effective methodology to help EFL learners develop their academic writing skills. Through explicit writing instruction of genre-based approach, this study, based on systemic functional linguistics (SFL), investigated how Theme was marked and advanced in an expository essay produced by ASEAN EFL students.
Theoretical Framework
Essay before and after peer review activity oriented towards functional grammar for understanding meaning is the focus of analysis to see how linguistic features are made in terms of Topic. Given that, clear instruction of language features important to each writing style for an expository essay can help them become aware of "language as a system of meaning" (Martin, 2009, p. 11) and, subsequently , to use language to make meaning. in a text construction more effectively.
Research methodology
In total, eight writing essays, four before the peer review and the other four after the peer review, were collected for the topic under investigation, that is, theme analysis. To discover how students organized and structured their texts, a comparison of the eight written texts, four before the peer review and the other four after the peer review, based on SFL, was coded on how theme markedness was and progressed.
Findings
The purpose of this assignment was to compare and contrast two brands of chocolate available in their community. Reinforcement of the explicit explanation of the SFL offered through the peer response activity to offer a range of linguistic options in explaining meaning making in their expository assignment led to an improvement in the revision in terms of topic markedness and topic progression.
Theme markedness
The essay reflected the students' awareness of the power of language choices in structuring the text, where there were still small but fewer grammatical errors. Theme and theme were rearranged, regrouped, or even rewritten to refine the structure of their compare and contrast expository essay.
Theme progression
Building on SFL analysis, it reveals that explicit genre-based instruction through the SFL-oriented approach enabled these graduate students to have a tool to spot and work on content and rhetorical problems in their expository text, especially for their own review. The instructor's initiation about linguistic choices for potential meaning-making attracted the students' active participation during the peer review, which led to significant improvement for their theme progression in their expository essay.
Discussion and conclusion
To clarify and refine the theme in their argument, the graduate students were also able to notice the excessive use of transitive device in a distorted way to manage the flow of information as shown in Table 1 and Table 2. Last but not least not least, given the fact that the findings of this study are from the small number of writing tasks, future research should increase the corpus for the analysis of topic and rheme construct in EFL writing. A better choice of notation and theme progression to interpret the meaning of the exposition can be reinforced by collective group writing practices.
Acknowledgement
In sum, as Kibler (2011) described, explicit genre-based writing instruction can serve a dual role—developing students' reading comprehension skills while simultaneously building their academic writing skills as in their discipline as well as in the field of EFL. The formal implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community in 2015 has made each ASEAN country prepare its citizens to become proficient in its mother tongue and the AEC working language, namely English.

This research study focuses on risk factors caused by floods for the preparation of city planning management in a case study of the flood risk management which aims to study the physical changes, land use and risks arising from flood areas to seek risk mitigation guidelines in the area by study of population, economy, social and land use aspects. As well as, the urban planning management measures must be applied to help with flood risk management in order to generate urban planning management, both non-constructive measures and constructive measures applied as concrete management guidelines to effectively and sustainably reduce the impact of flooding.
