Aims

This report provided a preface for the two annexed handover letters between The Agency of Research and Human Resource, MMAF as the Indonesian Fisheries Refugia Project committee and two national institutions whose belonging authority in managing Indonesian national marine area focused on Capture Fisheries (Directorate General for Capture Fisheries, MMAF) and marine spatial planning (Directorate General for Marine Spatial Planning, MMAF).

Contents

To endorse policy by implementing the fisheries refugia concept, the recommendation has been delivered to two national authorities. The handover ceremony was conducted during the

7th RSTC meeting in Jakarta, Indonesia, and witnessed by Fisheries Refugia PCU and other country member delegations. To be noticed, Directorate General for Capture Fisheries, MMAF, and Directorate General for Marine Spatial Planning, MMAF welcomed the recommendation documents and stated their commitment to refer to the proposed fisheries refugia documents as the scientific consideration in formulating management policy for both fisheries refugia sites, especially for the marine area under national authority.
