Vindicating Prophet Adam from the Culpability of what was Imputed to him of Conspicuous Shirk(Polytheism)
Dr. Saeed Muhammad Hussain Malwi*
Islamic University of Almadinah
Abstract: This research has to do with what was ascribed to Prophet Adam (peace be upon him) of being culpable of Shirk relating to the names of Allah.
Research Objectives: The research objectives include exoneration of Adam from the guilt of polytheism and clarification of the fact that immunity against shirk (polytheism) is one of the necessitations of prophethood.
Research methodology: Deductive approach
Research findings: Findings include the nullity of the story which commentators of the holy Qur'an and others stated regarding verse (189) of Surah Al-A'raaf and that the verse refers to the Mankind brood.
Recommendations: Recommendations include to make efforts to retouch the books of Aqeedah (Islamic faith) and Tafseer (commentary of the holy Qur'an) and others and refine them of such stories that blaspheme prophethood.
Key words: Vindicating, prophet, polytheism, Shirk.
