- Objectives
1. Summary of main learning outcomes for students enrolled in the course.
Understand & perform technical details of various operative steps to reinforce the pre-clinical knowledge
Induce a proper clinical diagnosis & development of a formulated treatment plan
Understand the principles of cavity preparation & its modification according to the extent of caries & the biophysical properties of the plastic restorations
Know how to eradicate dental caries & carry out appropriate cavity modification to receive the plastic material, including liner, base &
cements
Proper selection of the appropriate restorative material according to the treated case
Master handling & application of restorations with amalgam, glass ionomer, dentin bonding agents, anterior & posterior composites as well as caries prevention, pit & fissure sealants
Be upgraded to treat complicated and complex clinical cases &
procedures
2. Briefly describe plans for developing and improving the course that are being implemented. (E.g. increased use of IT or web based reference material, changes in content as a result of new research in the field).
IT and web facilities was provided by the university to the staff and in the libraries to enable the students to communicate, look at their results, download lectures, and do their assignment.
Up-to-date scientific websites are provided to the students to allow them to learn more about new scientific concepts related to dental esthetic, bleaching, management of mutilated teeth and so forth.
