Publications Statistics
This document gives an overview of the statistics of published scholarly output, as per the data analysis tool (SciVal) provided by the Elsevier database for SCOPUS. For the College of Engineering (COE) at Imam Abdulrahman Bin Faisal University, over five years (Jan. 2017 to Dec. 2020), a total of (298) publications were published, 74% of which were among the Q1-Q2 (top 50% journals) categories. There is a clear trend of increase in the publications over the years, with a rate reaching almost 50% increment, indicating that the college of engineering has a great potential for further development.
1. Total Number of Papers
Figure (1) summarizes the total number of published scholarly output indexed in Scopus by faculty members of the COE starting from 2017 until 2020. A regular increase in the number of publications is noticed throughout the years.

2. Publications by CiteScore quartile
Publications of the COE show tendency towards higher-ranked prestigious journals. In 2020, the college publications with Q1 ranked journal presented 55% of total publications, which represents an escalating tendency towards higher ranks when compared to the 39% in 2017. Figure (2) illustrates the college publications per quartile in the years of 2017 to 2020.

3. Number of Papers per Department
Figure (3) shows the number of published journal papers indexed in Scopus for COE departments for the years 2017 till 2020.

4. Departments Publications per member
Figure (4) illustrates the number of published papers in Scopus indexed journals divided by the number of faculty members contributed in publications in the respective department.
