Agricultural development is given a high priority in the economic policies and development plans of most Arab countries. The manufacturing GDP in the Arab countries in 2016 was about 11.1% of the total GDP for the Arab region. As a result, the current account of the Arab countries as a group showed a deficit for Figure 8.2.
