Q: Are there any hidden charges besides the fee which I have paid?
A: There are no hidden charges. The published fee structure includes the miscellaneous fee also that the prospective student has to pay.
Q: What happens if I need to defer or stop studying due to work or personal reasons?
A: Student can postpone for one semester in an Academic year as per the policy, postponement charges as per the published fee structure will be applicable. If a student postpones from one semester to another falling in subsequent academic year, the postponement fees and tuition fees as per the new academic year will be applicable.
International student cannot postponement after commencement of the classes.
In case student does not join in the upcoming semester, it will result in cancellation of admission, with no refund of fees.
Q: What happens if I fail in a semester how can I repeat the course?
A: If the student fails in semester, he will be able to repeat the course on the next availability of course along with the repeating course fee as per the published miscellaneous fee structure.
Q: I need to change my study module how can I do it?
A: If you want you may apply on your portal for change of batch from morning to evening, this is subject to approval. However, students cannot change from weekday to weekend or vice versa once the main program has commenced.
Q: Where can I get my books? does SUC provide me with the books?
A: The books will be provided by SUC Library on return basis per semester upon the
Commencement / orientation day of the program for Undergraduate & Graduate programs offered under School of Business and School of IT.
Q: My first language is not English; do I need to prove that my written English is of a certain standard?
A: Student seeking admission must prove the English proficiency by taking any one of the below mentioned English proficiency tests approved by the Ministry of Education (MOE),

Q: Do you offer weekend or distance learning programs?
A: SUC offers Undergraduate & Graduate Programs classes under School of Business & School of IT on weekends also. As per Ministry requirements, distance learning programs are not accredited and cannot be offered.
Q: What is the process of transfer of credit to or from another university?
A: We will need the following documents for transfer of credit:

A: Cancellation form has to be submitted online. The student must clear all his dues before the release of any academic or non-academic document.

Q: Where can I get the information about Skyline University?

Q: When was Skyline University Started?
A: Skyline was established in the year 1990 and since then it has been one of the leading higher education institution in the northern emirates. Skyline 40-acre campus is located in the University City of Sharjah, which is easily accessible from all emirates in the UAE.
Q: Is SUC approved & accredited?
A: SUC offers programs in Business and Information Technology through their School of Business & School of Information Technology which are fully-approved and accredited by the Ministry of Education (MOE), UAE.
Q: What are the different majors offered by Skyline?
A: SUC offers Undergraduate & Graduate programs in Business and Information Technology under the School of Business; Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Tourism and Hospitality Management, International Business, Marketing & Retail Management, Accounting and Finance, Public Administration, Innovation and Entrepreneurship and Human Resource Management and Psychology. Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programs are offered, with Emphasis in International Business and Marketing, Finance, Strategic Human Resource Management, Strategic Management & Leadership, E-governance, Project Management and Sustainable Development. Under its School of Information Technology, it offers Bachelor of Science in Information Technology – Enterprise Computing program.
Q: How long does it take for SUC to provide a student VISA?
A: If all the documents are complete and the fee has been deposited as per the fee structure, it normally takes a minimum of 3 to 4 weeks for the security clearance and visa processing.
Q: What are the minimum high school requirements for admission into Undergraduate Program at SUC?
A: An applicant seeking admission for Undergraduate program is required to fulfill the following conditions:

1. Prospective student should have 60% marks in the secondary school of UAE curriculum or its equivalent as per the International Grade Conversions published by World Education Services Inc. (wes.org) and www.classbase.com. Student having any equivalent qualification from an institution in UAE must get the documents attested by the Ministry of Education and Youth. For qualifications obtained from abroad, attestation is required from the relevant authorities of that country.
1. IGCSE/GCSE/GCE (O-Level) : All documents require attestation from the competent authorities.
13 YEARS OF SCHOOLING
o Student class no. 10 – should pass 5 “O level “ (grade A to E)

Students holding National Secondary School Certificates from UAE Board with score of less than 60% should submit Foundation Program completion certificate from an institution

approved by MOE. It is not applied for High School Certificate holders of other systems of education.
On passing the Foundation Program, the student’s Certificate will be recognized and attested by the MOE. This may be used for progression to Higher Education within the institution offering the Foundation Program, or for entry to other Higher Education institutions, provided the student meets the admission requirements set for specific programs at that institution.
English Language Proficiency Test
Prospective Undergraduate student is required to fulfill any one of the following requirements for admission to BBA & BSIT program as given below (Refer Table 1)
1. A minimum score of 500 out of 677 on Institutional Test of English as Foreign Language
(TOEFL) or
a minimum score of 61 out of 120 on the Internet Based Test (IBT) of (TOEFL) or a minimum score of 173 on the Computer based (TOEFL) (certificates will be accepted upon verification by the ETS)
2. A minimum score of 5.0 on International English Language Testing System (IELTS - Academic)
3. A minimum score of 1100 in EmSAT Achieve English (Emirates Standardized Test) Note:
1. Qualifying English proficiency test is mandatory for all including native speakers 2. Institutional TOEFL / IELTS score only from recognized testing centers or AMIDEAST is
acceptable. The TOEFL (IBT) certificates will be accepted upon verification by the ETS and for IELTS verification will be done from IELTS website.
3. Requirements are applied regardless of educational system or country where student is coming from.
Mathematical Ability Test
SUC conducts a mathematical ability test in which an applicant is required to score a minimum of 60% passing score for placement into the Undergraduate program.
Following are the exceptions for taking the SUC Mathematical Ability Test:
1. Students with a minimum SAT score of 500
2. Student holding diploma or transfer of credit from an accredited institution by MOE and having a grade “C” or above in a Mathematics related course.

3. Students with a minimum EmSAT Math score of 1100.
Q: What is the graduation requirements for admission into Graduate program at SUC?
A: An applicant seeking admission for Graduate program is required to fulfill the following conditions:
Bachelor Degree Grade
An applicant seeking admission for MBA program is required to fulfill the following conditions:
1. A Bachelor’s degree in Business discipline from an accredited institution in the UAE or its equivalent having a cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.0 (on a 4.0 point scale or its established equivalent) or
2. A Bachelor’s degree in other than business discipline will be accepted but the applicant is required to undergo a MBA Qualifying program (MQP)
3. MQP courses cleared by non-business graduate students in any other University will also be accepted at SUC as per MQP TOC Policy. However, the student needs to appear for a challenge exam
English Language Proficiency Test
Prospective Graduate student is required to fulfill any one of the following requirements for admission as given below
1. A minimum score of 550 out of 677 on Institutional Test of English as Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a minimum score of 79 out of 120 on the Internet Based Test (IBT) of (TOEFL) or a minimum score of 213 on the Computer based (TOEFL)
2. A minimum score of 6.0 on International English Language Testing System (IELTS - Academic)
3. A minimum score of 1400 in EmSAT Achieve English (Emirates Standardized Test) Q: What is the mode of payment for the fee?
A: The fee can be paid in cash or through direct debit facility through debit/credit card or even through Post Dated Cheques. Students who don’t require SUC visa can pay the fee on installment basis however Post Dated Cheques for complete semester have to be presented at the time of admission alternatively direct debit form can be filled. International students have to pay the fee semester wise and students seeking visa letter from SUC have to pay the yearly fee in 3 installments – 1st installment is cash and remaining 2 are through Post Dated Cheques.

Q: Will there be increase in the fees?
A: Any increase of fee depends on the strategic plan/finance department and prior information will be published officially regarding the same on website and student portal.
Q: What are the maximum number credit hours can be transferred to SUC?
A: SUC accepts students who are transferring from a federal or licensed institution in the UAE or a foreign institution of higher learning based outside the UAE and accredited in its home country, are eligible for transfer admission. The student must attend a minimum of 50% (60 credit hours) of their study plan at SUC in other words, maximum of 20 courses can be offered as transfer of credits to the Undergraduate programs whereas for Graduate program a maximum of 12 credits which is 25% courses can be offered as transfer of credits. The credit hours completed must be equivalent or higher to the corresponding courses offered at SUC.
Q: How long it take for SUC to inform the student about the transfer of credit of courses?
A: The transfer of credit process takes 2-3 working days once the below mentioned documents are completed and application is completed:
-The official transcripts -Detailed syllabi (Credit Value, Level, detailed course content, learning outcomes/objective and indicative learning resources) -An official letter from the previous institution -All documents mentioned in the admission requirements (High School certificates/Bachelor Degree) -Processing fee of AED 525/- inclusive VAT (non-refundable &
subject to change) must be paid for evaluation at time of application.
Q: What is the minimum GPA required for a transfer student to be considered eligible for admission in SUC?
A: The students seeking admission in Undergraduate Program of SUC must have passed the courses in his graduation program or higher national diploma with a minimum of ‘C’ grade or equivalent above GPA 2. The program which the student is studying prior to seeking a transfer must be recognized by the Ministry of Education in their respective country to be eligible for transfer. Maximum credits awarded for transfer admission will be limited to specified courses at SUC. In case credits earned at the original institution are less than those at SUC, the lower credits will be awarded as transfer. No transfer can be awarded for Capstone and protected courses of SUC.

Q: The degree offered by the Skyline is acceptable for transfer of credits to other local universities within UAE?
A: Yes, the degree is acceptable for transfer of credits to universities within UAE and internationally.
Q: When a student paid initial fees and got admission in SUC but cannot join due to unseen reasons will the fees be refunded?
A: 1. Local Candidates with Own Visa
In case the student cancels his admission before commencement of the classes, Admission fee is non-refundable / non-transferable, however First Installment Fee will be refunded. No refund is applicable after the commencement of the program even if the student has not attended the class or is yet to submit English Placement exam or result is still awaited.
2. Candidates Living In UAE Seeking SUC Visa/Visa Letter/Embassy Letter
If a student cancels before the commencement of the degree program the fee paid towards tuition (installments) will be refunded. However no refund is applicable for the First Installment fee. If a student cancels after the commencement of the degree program, any advanced installment paid will be non-refundable even if the student has not attended the class or is yet to give English Placement exam or result is still awaited.
If a visa is rejected by the Immigration and Naturalization authorities, the University will retain the application & registration fee and AED 500/- as service charges and refund the remaining fee.
1. If a student is rejected on health grounds by the Immigration and Naturalization Authorities; in such cases, the application & registration fee, first installment fee &
visa fee will be non-refundable. The hostel fees will be calculated until the last day of his/her stay. Rest of the fees (Passport and Hostel Guarantee & 1st Cheque Payment) will be refunded
2. If the student cancels the degree program after the visa is applied there will be no refund of visa fee as well as the Application & registration fees.
3. Visa Students (Overseas)
If a student cancels after the VISA is applied before the commencement of the degree program the fee paid towards VISA and $ 1000 from the first installment will not be refunded.
If a student cancels after the commencement of the degree program, any advanced installment paid will be non-refundable. If a visa is rejected by the Immigration and

Naturalization authorities, the University will retain $ 1500 from the first installment fee and refund the remaining fees.

A: Yes, transfer can be done before and after the batch commencement, cancellation process to be applied and school transfer fee is applicable as per school transfer policy.
Q: Can a student get the admission into masters based on SUC Undergraduate’s degree?
A: Yes, the student can get admission into graduate program based on SUC UG’s degree provided is meeting the minimum grades required as per the admission requirement.
Q: What are the different Intake into degree programs?
A: SUC has three intakes in a year i.e Summer, Spring & Fall. (June, September & January) Q: How diverse is the SUC environment in terms of Student community and Faculty demographics?
A: Skyline has more than 65 different nationalities studying in various programs providing cultural interaction to enhance understanding from different perspectives. 25% of Skyline's student body consists of international students. Faculty members also are of different nationalities from UK, US, South Africa, India, Pakistan, Morocco, Jordan, Palestine and other GCC countries.
Q: What are the batch timings of lectures?
A: Students have option to choose their class timings between morning, evening and weekends. The classes for Undergraduate are held 5 days per week (Sunday – Thursday).

A: Skyline offers Academic and sports based scholarship to deserving local & international students. SUC associates with various government and private institutions for allocation of scholarship fund to encourage and support students academically.
Q: Does SUC offer meritorious scholarships to the students in the First year of University?
A: Yes, a meritorious scholarship to the students in the First year of the University is also provided.
Q: Are Transfer students included in the scholarship policy?
A: Yes, transfer students are also included in scholarship; however, the scholarship cannot exceed 15% and the students have to meet all the admission requirements.
Q: Does SUC offer any preparatory courses for students who don't fulfill the required criteria for admission?
A: SUC offers English language classes and Math crash course for the students who are unable to meet the entrance requirements of English proficiency and Mathematics.
Q: Can the student get into bachelor degree after completing the foundation course from SUC?
A: SUC does not offer any foundation program for Bachelor’s degree. For Master’s degree SUC offers a MQP course, (MBA Qualifying Program) and after successful completion of the same the student can join the Master’s degree.
Q: Can students on SUC student VISA take up part time job?
A: Yes, the student can take part time jobs after getting an NOC from SUC and a part time work permit from the company they will be working with.

Q: Can I postpone my admission?

Q: I’m married female student who want to study in UAE, can I enroll on any degree program. If so what are the requirements for admission?
A: Yes, the admission requirements are the same as of any International student. However, SUC will not be sponsoring the spouse or children. Only student visa will be applied for candidate seeking studies with Skyline.
Q: Does international Driving License is valid in UAE?
A: Yes, International driving License is Valid in UAE. However, students need to apply for UAE driving license once their residence visa is stamped. SUC will be issuing an NOC letter to the students so they can apply for UAE driving license.
Q: What are the requirements to get a Driving License in UAE?
A: Student’s need to have a valid passport, valid UAE visa and an NOC from Skyline.
Q: Does the Hostel provide a Mess Facility?
A: SUC has a canteen on campus where students can order meals during day time till late evening/night until 9:30 pm. There are many food outlets nearby the hostel providing take away facility and the telephone numbers are readily available.
Q: How far is the male student hostel from University?
A: SUC has two hostel facilities for boys. One is on campus and the other one is off campus.
The off campus residence is approx. 20 minutes’ drive from Skyline and transportation is provided at an additional cost.
Q: How far is the female student hostel from University?
A: Girl’s hostel facility is approx. 20 minutes’ drive from Skyline and transportation is provided at an additional cost. We are planning to have girl’s hostel facility within campus by next year.

Q: Can my friends visit me in the Hostel?
A: Yes, friends can visit during day time between 10am -6pm.
Q: Does the Hostel have a Warden?
A: SUC has a hostel in-charge and an additional SUC employee stays in the hostel to take care of the hostel students. Round the clock security is maintained.
Q: The University is far from the downtown? Does University provide any bus facility to downtown for groceries and shopping on weekly basis?
A: The University provides bus facility for shopping to city Centre 3 times in a week. There are many grocery stores nearby the university providing free delivery services.
Q: Is the Hostel Fees charged on monthly/Quarterly/Half yearly/ Yearly basis?
A: The hostel fee is charged on a half yearly basis, subject to minimum of one academic year.
Q: Does the Hostel have indoor sports facility?
A: Yes, hostel has indoor and outdoor sports facility like cricket field, football ground, basketball court, table tennis and well equipped gym.
Q: What is the minimum attendance to be maintained?
A: Minimum of 75% attendance per course has to be maintained to be eligible to sit in the final exams.
Q: How can the university support in terms of attendance & studies if I am working in shifts?
A: The student has to submit his duty roster from his work place, the same must be signed by HR department. Once the same is submitted to the administration department along with an email requesting for exemption, the application will be reviewed by the Head of Academic Support services on case to case basis. The student has to request faculty members for extra guidance in case their work schedule does not allow them to attend classes. In such cases faculty members are also supportive and willing to accommodate student’s request subject to their availability.
