Banks must ensure, through publicly available information and investigations (such as the media), that the correspondent banks with which a bank intends to do or continue to do business are not subject to any money laundering or terrorist financing investigations involved in matters in be brought against them in this regard or be subject to any legal action. Banks may not enter into new relationships with a correspondent bank or open a correspondent account without the approval of their senior management.
