Decision to reconstitute the
Scientific Production Committee
ﻲﻤﻠﻌﻟا جﺎﺘﻧا ﺔﻨﺠﻟ ﻞﻴﻜﺸﺗ ةدﺎﻋإ راﺮﻗ (Administrative decision)
•The President of Imam Abdul Rahman bin Faisal University.
•Based on the powers he has been authorized.
•After reviewing article No. 50 of the regulations governing the affairs of Saudi university employees, including faculty members and so, regarding the description of the permanent committees and the determination of the remuneration paid to their members.
•After cognizing the approval of the Standing Committees Description Committee in its twenty-first report, held on 1437/02/28, on the formation of the permanent committee for evaluating the
scientific production of faculty members.
•After reviewing the approval of the Minister of Education - President of the University Council - on the decision to form a permanent committee to evaluate the scientific production of faculty
members according to the letter of the Secretary-General of the Interim Committee Acting on the Higher Education Council No.310 on 20/03/1438.
•As a matter of public interest.
(decided the following)
First: Forming a permanent committee to evaluate the scientific production of faculty members, headed by The Vice President of IAU for Postgraduate and Scientific Research and the membership of: The Director-General of Financial Administrative Affairs Member
The Dean of the Institute of Medical Consultation Research Member The Dean of the Deanship of Scientific Research Member The Director-General of Human Resources Member The Secretary of the Scientific Council Member Dr. Loay bin Tahseen Jaber Secretary
Second: It is assigned to carry out secretarial work and tasks for the coordination committee with the concerned faculties and follow-up with the work teams and the subcommittees each of:
Mr. Hamad bin Abdullah Aldaig.
Mr.Ali bin Hussein Alshaqaqeeq.
Ali bin Abdullah Alomari.
Third: The vision and mission of the committee:
1) Vision: achieve the knowledge economy by making Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University an effective model for scientific research outputs at the national, regional, and global levels.
2) Mission: Increasing the effectiveness, feasibility, monitoring of scientific research for Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University at the local and global levels.
ﻲﻤﻠﻌﻟا جﺎﺘﻧا ﺔﻨﺠﻟ ﻞﻴﻜﺸﺗ ةدﺎﻋإ راﺮﻗ (Administrative Decision) Fourth: Objectives of the Committee:
1) Promote scientific production to make Imam Abdulrahman bin Faisal University on the top of the universities.
2) Encouraging faculty members to do their responsibility towards supporting the movement of scientific research and authorship at the university and community levels.
3) Improving the scientific and knowledge publishing system specialized in beneficial fields 4) Supporting faculty members in publishing their scientific publication and confirming their affiliation with the university in the published works
5) Make up for the shortage in the classified publication in the global information bases and enrich the local and international library
6) Enhancing the distinguished competence of faculty members to develop a new generation of researchers at the university
7) Emphasis on the dissemination of global scientific production related to development goals in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Fifth: The committee is responsible for the following tasks:
1) Suggest executive and procedural rules that stimulate research activity and scientific publishing for faculty members and raise their level in this aspect.
2) Implementing publishing rules, regulations, and standards according to the unified regulations for scientific research and the university's and the scientific council's regulations.
3) Follow up on the publication of books, research papers, scientific studies authored and translated, in coordination with the Deanship of Scientific Research, the Publishing Center and the university's research institute.
4) Evaluation of the published and arrogant scientific production of faculty members and researchers.
5) Coordinate with the university’s recruitment committees.
6) Review the annual reports of the job performance of the research faculty members.
7) Recommendation of granting incentives to distinguished faculty members in research and scientific publishing, as well as urging those who need in this field to raise their level in scientific research and follow up on that periodically.
Sixthly: The members of this committee shall be paid the reward of the permanent committees prescribed by law, in accordance with the instructions regulating the disbursement.
Seventh: This decision will take effect on its date of issuance, and it will be communicated to anyone required to enforce it by law, and all previous decisions that contradict it will be repealed..
