This study examines the relationship between economic growth and electricity consumption in Ho Chl Minh City in the short and long term with data collected in the period 2005- 2018 and estimated by error correction model. The output illustrates that, in the long run, electricity consumption has a positive impact on economic growth and in the short term, electricity consumption at latency 1 (electricity output of the previous year) creates an influence on economic growth in the current year Also, the paper makes short-term forecasts about the growth rale of electricity consumption and economic growth of the City in order to provide managers information to develop the City's economic growth scenario in the coming time.
