DIRECTIONS DATED 1 AUGUST 2012

The Chief Justice has issued the following directions:

1. The parties are required to file full written submissions on the merits for the purposes of the hearing on Tuesday 28 August 2012, without repeating those issues already traversed in the preliminary submissions.

2. Written submissions must be lodged by –

a. the applicant on or before Wednesday, 8 August 2012; and b. the respondent on or before Wednesday, 15 August 2012.

3. The record of the trial will not be required for the determination of the issues on the merits.

4. Any party wishing to draw the Court’s attention to particular passages in the record may, as part of their written argument and within the specified limits

a. specify the precise passages in issue;

b. excerpt them from the record; and

c. explain why they are necessary to the Court’s determination of the issues.

5. Further directions may be issued.
