WlTn reference to the very interesting communication made by nr. Du '1'oit, on the subject o( Rabies, I wish to bring to your notice' a special affection studied in Egypt during the past month and which with regard to the clinical symptoms and the anatomical pathological lesions has a lot ill common with rabies.
This is why it has becn considered by the Egyptian Vetel'ina- rians as true rabies. Our researehes have established tbat this particular affection is like rabies due to a filterable virus which may be tran&mitted serially to dogs and laboratory animals (rabbit. and guinea pigs).
1.'he aiJection, however, may be differentiated from hydrophobia the (ollowing reasons:-
(1)' 1.'be sick animal has no tendency to bite.
(2) 'fhe inferior maxillary bas never been found to
