Last week, it will be l'P.memhered, we recounted the diffi- culties which havP faced tile committee of the JPwi~h Intional Fund in fixing a date for this function, and announc('d a· thP date which had been eventually arrived at as Aug;ust HJth. It eems, however, that this <late was not to be final for we now learn that the Ball will be held not on the 19th, but on Thurs- day, 20th August. This further postpcnement has been made in deference to a requc_·t from the Junior Boarcl of Guardians, who are holding a Grand Concert in the City Hall on th 19th.

The second of the serie of Maccabcan Guild Orchcsti:c.d Concerts recently inaugurated, was held in the Zionist Hall cm Wednesday evening last. The1·c wa an amweciative audience and the prngrammc was interesting and well contrast d, satis- fying all moods and tastes. The orchestra, under the baton of Mr. George Tobias, was in g-oocl form and gave excellent re11- derings from Mozart, Ma1·ie, Schubert. The concluding orchest- ral item was from Mendelssohn'· Italian Symphony.
