The local Zionist Association has forwarded to the Zionist Federation the following amounts for the Jewish National Fund : -£7 Us. 6d., proceeds of bridge evening recently given by 1\Irs. H. V. Berghaus; £3 19s. 6d., pro- ceeds of afternoon teas at the residences of .:\1adam Gottlieb and Madam I. Berghaus; £7 16s. 6d., collected on l\Iay 31st at the Bris Milah of the infant son of Mr. and l\lrs.

\.vbich is taken of such functions and domestic occasions for the purpose of increa ing our nn tional treasure. We only wish that all other societies would emulate this example, for the result would be that the Fund would benefit to the extent Qf many thousands of pounds annually.
SOMERSET WEST.
On Wedne. day, the 2nd July, a very pleasant function took place at the residence of l\Ir. G. Kru s, Somerset West, on the occasion of the Bris 1\Iilah of his infant son.
l\lr. Michelson, of Capetown, officiated. Mr. W. 1\lill r presided over a very large attendance and, in opening the proceedings, referred to the position which l\Ir. and Mrs.
Kruss occupied in the respect and esteem of their friends.
During the afternoon Rev Schlomow, l\Ir. Michelson and Mr. H. M. Jaffe endorsed the remarks made by the chair- man in regard to the position occupied by 1\Ir. and 1\Irs.
Kruss amongst their friends. A collection took place, which realised the sum of £10.
