African Music (ISSN 0065-4019) is an annual peer-reviewed journal published by the International Library of African Music, Rhodes University, P.O. Box 94, Grahamstown 6140, South Africa. The journal publishes original articles, not previously published, pertaining to contextualized studies of African music and related arts.
The editor welcomes submissions of article manuscripts and book, website, film, CD and DVD reviews. Submissions should be sent as MSWord documents via email to the editor at [email protected]. Instructions for authors with a style guide are available for download from the ILAM website www.ru.ac.za/ilam or from the editor.
Readers are encouraged to access the ILAM website for a complete listing with contents pages of all previously published issues of African Music since its inception in 1954.
Print or electronic copies of back issues and/or scans of individual articles are available upon request.
