Marriase of Rabbi M. C. Weiler and Miss Una Gelman

On Sunday afternoon last the Temple Israel in Johannesburg was filled with a large congregation which had come to witness the marriage of the Minister of the Jewish Reform Congregation, Rabbi M. C. Weiler, to Miss Una Gelman, of Bulawayo. The synagogue was tastefully decorated with palms and flowers and the Ser- vice was fully choral. The ceremony was performed by Mr. H. L. Haw- kins, assisted by r. E. M. Davis- Marks.
The unterfuhrers were the bride's parents, Mr. and A. Gelman, and the President of the Congregation and his wife, Mr. and rs. Max Marx.
The best-man was r. V. H. Brasch.

In addition many handsome gi were received f.rom various sources including the S.A. Jewish Orphanage' t~e ~ ewish Aged Home, the Women'' Z1omst League and the Society of Jews and Christians.
A few of the numerous telegrams of good wishes received from all parts of the world were read.
Among thege were messages from the Rabbi's mother in Palestine, his sis- ter and brother-in-law in ew York his brother and sister-in-law in Hous~
toh, Texas, Chief Rabbi Dr. J. L.
Landau and Mrs. Landau, members of the St. George's Presbyterian Church, Capetown "United Hebrew Congregations, and the Council for Natal Jewry.
The poleholders were Messrs. Sam ~=============~
Gelman, A. B. Braude, F. H. R. Met- ter and M. Gordon. The two :llower- girls were the Mtsaes Denise and Ruth Lakofski.
After the ceremony an informal garden reception was held at the fu- ture home of Rabbi and Mrs. Weiler.
