The marriage of Freda, elder daughter of l\Ir. and Mrs. I. Frootco, of Johannes- burg, and Joe, third son of the late Mr.

and Mrs. I. M. Kapelus, of Springs, will take place at the Berea Synagogue on Sun- day, April 15th, at 11.30 a.m.

The engagement is announced of Miss Dolly Blank, daughter of Mr and Mrs. B.

Blank, of Y eoville, and Mr. Morris Hock- man, of Roodepoort.

Mr. and Mrs. M. Lipschitz will leave Johannesburg next Thur day morning by the Union Limited mail for Capetown, and will sail on a visit oversea the following day in the Warwick Castle. They intend to be away about six months.

Miss Fanny Stein was the niaid of honour.

Dr. Jack Beinash was the best man. The unterfuhrers were Mrs. Brenner and Mr.

Mike Myer and Mr. and Mrs. Lipschitz.

Dr. J. Fox and Messrs. Coghan, Kaplan ar.d Liebman were the canopy bearers.

After the ceremony a family luncheon, followed by a dance, was held at the Stephanie.

On Saturday evening next, the 7th inst., the 99th meeting of the Palestine Club will be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. S.

Pincus, 44, Frances Street, Yeoville. On this occasior: Mr. Edgar Bern tein will lec- ture on" The Art of Lion Feuchtwanger."

JEWISH GUILD (JOHANNE BURG).

On Sunday, April 8th, at 8.30 p.m., Cap- tain I. Levinson will deliver a lecture at the Jewish Guild, under the auspice of the Guild of Israel and Hatechiya Sections, on

"The Story of a Converted Jew." Mr.

Jam es Cranko will preside.

On Sunday, April 15th, the Dramatic Section has arranged another of its popu- lar monthly socials. The programme will include a one-act play, produced by Miss Joan Heymann, and variety items contri- buted by the Musical Art Section.

LISSACK-ROGOFF.

The marriage took place on Sunday, the 25th ult., at the Berea Synagogue, of Estelle, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lissack, to Joseph, fourth son of Mrs. Rogoff and the late Mr.

Sam?-el Rogoff. The Rev. S. Steinberg officiated at the service, and the unter- fuhrers were Mr. and Mrs. Dave Lis- sack and Mr. and Mrs. Isaac Rogoff.

Mr. B. Rogoff, brother of the bride- groom, was the best man, and Mes. rs.

Louis Goldberg, Jack Lissack, Mike Rogoff and Allen Lissack were the canopy bearers. The bridegroom's sis- ters, Miss Minnie and Miss Hylda Rogoff, were the bridesmaids, Jo~·cl?

Rogoff and Laura Beiles were the flower girls, and Master Graham Rogoff was the page boy.

A reception was held at the Selborne Hall, at which toasts were proposed by Mr. Barney Rogoff, Dr. I. J. Balkin and Mr. Isaac Rc·goff.

FINKELSTEIN-DUBOWITZ.

The wedding was solenu1ised at the Beau- fort West Synagogue on Sunday, the 25th ult., of Anny Dubowitz and Jack Finkel- stein, of Middelburg (C.P.). The Rev. I.

Gulis officiated.

The unterfuhrers were Mr. and Mrs. J.

Dubowitz and Mr. and Mr" C. Dubowitz.

The bride was attended by two bridesmaids, Misses Jane Todes and B. Frank (Fras r- berg). Dr. Norman Klass acted as best man, while Harry Todes was the grooms- man. The polehoJders were Messrs. B.

Maimen, B. Dubowitz, Hyman Todes and M. Maimen. After the ceremony a recep- tion was held at the residence of Mr. an·l Mrs. A. Todes.
