Previously, he served as Executive Vice President & Head-Central Procurement Division at GMR Group since July 2008 until March 2013 and also held several positions in Essar Oil Ltd., Sterlite Industries India Ltd., United Phosphorus Ltd., Hindustan Ferodo Ltd., SVG Works Ltd., National Dairy Development Board, all of which are based in India. He received his Bachelor Degree in Technology in Chemical Engineering from the Regional Engineering College, Surathakal, Karnataka, India in 1981 and completed his Post Graduate Diploma from Rural Management, Gujarat, India in 1983. (1987-1988). Beliau lulus dari Universitas Krisnadwipayana, Jakarta, dalam bidang Ekonomi Manajemen pada 1986.

He was previously a Deputy Director of Finance in PT Duta Pertiwi Tbk (1994- 2006), Finance Manager of PT Benua Indah Group (1993-1994), and held senior position in accountancy/ finance sector in several companies which deals with palm plantation, such as PT Sadang Mas/ PT Salim Plantation (1988-1992), and in PT Unindo Nusantara P.S. as Chief Accountant (1987-1988). He graduated from Universitas Krisnadwipayana, Jakarta, majoring in Management Economics in 1986.
