Pengguna Internet di Indonesia diperkirakan mencapai 106 juta orang di tahun 2016, atau hampir separuh dari populasi Indonesia. Hal ini menggambarkan pasar yang menjanjikan bagi penyedia jasa telekomunikasi. Dengan implementasi Masyarakat Ekonomi ASEAN, semakin banyak peluang yang tersedia di pasar Indonesia. Industri seluler mobile akan mengalami peningkatan permintaan layanan data, terutama dengan diluncurkannya 4G-LTE dan semakin luasnya penggunaan smartphone. Layanan telekomunikasi telah menjadi bagian penting keseharian masyarakat Indonesia, dengan pertumbuhan yang tinggi meskipun pertumbuhan perekonomian melambat. XL, didukung oleh Kebijakan Broadband Nasional dan perilaku yang semakin rasional dari para operator di industri ini, memiliki prospek masa depan yang cerah.
XL translates this commitment into education and leadership programs. XL has always been a major proponent of education, an important tool for an individual to thrive. In 2015, XL again held XL Future Leaders, Global Thinking. Through this program, XL seeks to nurture the potential of young people who will become Indonesia’s future leaders.
Another program, unique to XL and unmatched by other companies, is the XL BOD Challenge. With this program, the Company challenges select participants to lead XL for one week. The purpose of this program is to build the students’ leadership capacity. This program not only offers an exciting and memorable experience, but also provides valuable lessons as well. XL has also prepared an e-learning program called XL Future Leaders eLearn. Modules that are available in the eLearn portal can be downloaded without charge and studied by participants. Other than hands-on experience, XL also offers scholarships in collaboration with the Kerja Salemba Empat and Khazanah Foundations. XL also has the KUSi program, whereby the Company donates computers to schools to support learning processes and as part of XL’s efforts in continue building digital community in Indonesia.
On technology, XL has come up with the innovative XMart Village and XMartCities platforms. XMart Village is designed to highlight certain areas and connect them with potential investors. Meanwhile, XMartCities aims to offer integrated digital solutions for urban issues, such as transportation and health. XL also created the m-Fish application for small-scale fishermen. This application is designed to provide its users real-time data, e.g. pricing and market information, as well as allowing them to record and report data about their catch.
Outlook 2016
It is projected that internet users in Indonesia will reach 106 million people in 2016, or almost half the national population. This certainly is a positive indication for telecommunications providers. More opportunities will come about with the full-fledged implementation of the ASEAN Economic Community. The cellular mobile industry will continue to experience growth in demand for data services with the launch of high speed 4G-LTE internet services and rising smartphone adoption. Telecoms services have become a key part of Indonesians’ daily lives and continue to see increased demand despite the slower economic growth. As XL seeks to support the government’s national broadband policy and with increasingly rational behavior by operators in the industry, XL’s future prospects remain bright.

Inisiatif yang sudah dimulai di tahun 2015 akan dilanjutkan di tahun 2016. Kami percaya, hasil-hasil yang lebih baik tengah menanti. Perjalanan transformasi baru dimulai, dan diharapkan bisa menghantarkan efisiensi yang lebih tinggi dan capaian yang lebih besar bagi XL.
