PT Bank BNI Syariah merupakan spin-off dari Unit Usaha Syariah BNI, dan resmi melaksanakan operasional sebagai bank umum syariah sejak tanggal 19 Juni 2010. Setelah beroperasi selama 2 (dua) tahun, BNI Syariah mencatat perbaikan kinerja dibandingkan dengan tahun sebelumnya. Aset bank meningkat sebesar 26%, didukung oleh pertumbuhan sebesar 45% dalam pembiayaan. Sementara itu Dana Pihak Ketiga (DPK) tumbuh sebesar 27%, yang mayoritas diperoleh dari dana murah. Sebagai akibatnya, proposi dana murah (CASA) meningkat dari 52,0% pada tahun 2011 menjadi 57,6% di tahun 2012.

Laba bersih tercatat sebesar Rp115 miliar (belum diaudit) di tahun 2012. Ekuitas tetap kokoh dengan rasio CAR tercatat sebesar 14,5%. Rasio NPF turun dari 3,6% pada tahun 2011 menjadi 1,7% pada tahun 2012. Perbaikan di NPL ini dimungkinkan oleh pembayaran kembali, restrukturisasi dan ekspansi pembiayaan. BOPO tercatat menurun menjadi 85,8% seiring dengan peningkatan pendapatan dan kerugian

impairment yang relatif terkendali.

The impact from the crisis in United States of America and Europe has influenced the domestic and global economic condition, however, some of BNI’s subsidiary companies still showed a positive performance in 2012.

The subsidiary companies where BNI holds majority ownership attributed profit in the amount of Rp172 billion in 2012. Other strategic developments in 2012 was the takeover of minority shareholders of PT BNI Life Insurance, which increases the bank’s ownership in the company to 99.99% from 91.52% previously. This corporate action was done using funds from the proceeds of BNI’s rights issue in 2010 amounting to Rp93 billion.

PT Bank BNI Syariah

PT Bank BNI Syariah is a spin-off from BNI’s Sharia Business Unit, and formally started its operation as a sharia commercial bank on June 19, 2010. After more than 2 years operations, BNI Syariah showed an improved performance compared to a year earlier. The bank’s assets grew by 26%, supported by 45% increase in financing. Meanwhile, third party deposits grew by 27%, which are mostly derived from low cost funds. As a result, CASA proportion increased from 52.0% in 2011 to 57.6% in 2012.

Net profit was recorded at Rp115 billion (unaudited) in 2012. Equity remained strong with the CAR ratio recorded at 14.5%. NPF ratio fell from 3.6% in 2011 to 1.7% in 2012. Such improvement in NPL was enabled by repayment, restructuring and the financing expansion. BOPO posted a decline to 85.8% thanks to higher revenue and manageable impairment losses.

Produk unggulan BNI Syariah yaitu Griya Hasanah pada tahun 2012 mencatat pertumbuhan tertinggi dan memiliki proses bisnis terbaik. Selain itu, bank juga mempertahankan kartu pembiayaan Hasanah sebagai produk dengan jumlah pemegang kartu terbesar serta memiliki proses bisnis terbaik.

Selama tahun 2012, strategi bank relatif tidak berubah, yang memfokuskan pada pertumbuhan dana murah dari sisi pendanaan dan mengembangkan segmen konsumer ritel dan mikro dari segi

pembiayaan.

Untuk meningkatkan cakupan layanannya, BNI Syariah membuka 23 cabang, 85 cabang pembantu 7 kantor kas dan 20 layanan gerak di tahun 2012, disamping mengoptimalkan kerja sama dengan agen melalui perusaahaan induknya, yaitu BNI. Selama tahun 2012, BNI Syariah juga membuka 5 cabang mikro di Bogor sebagai proyek pilot untuk bisnis mikro Bank. Bogor merupakan wilayah pertama bagi eksposur bisnis mikro BNI syariah.

Strategi lainnya di tahun 2012 adalah membuat

recovery dari pembiayaan bermasalah sebagai fokus dengan mengoptimalkan collection dan recovery

dari segmen ritel, non-ritel dan kartu Hasanah melalui koordinasi yang lebih baik dengan BNI, pengawasan yang lebih baik terhadap pembiayaan untuk mengurangi Non Performing Financing (NPF) di ritel, non-ritel, kartu Hasanah dan meminimalkan penghapusbukuan selama tahun 2012.

Selama tahun 2012, bank menerima beberapa penghargaan, termasuk “the Best Syariah Bank in operational management risk for risk owner accountability” dari Business Review, “Bank dengan Kinerja Keuangan yang Memuaskan di Tahun 2011” dari Infobank, “Gold Brand Champion of Most Popular Brand Outside Jakarta” dari Markplus Insight, “The Favorite Mortgage Sharia Banking” dari Majalah Housing Estate.

Prospek 2013

Memasuki tahun 2013, bank akan mengembangkan bisnis ritel, konsumer dan mikro dengan

mengoptimalkan jaringan cabang dan memperkuat sistem manajemen keuangan. Strategi bank di tahun 2013 adalah menumbuhkan dana murah, mengembangkan aktiva produktif, mengoptimalkan jaringan cabang, mengoptimalkan komposisi portofolio pembiayaan dan memelihara kualitas pembiayaan, yang akan mendukung profitabilitas dan penurunan

The leading product for BNI Syariah was Griya Hasanah which in 2012 recorded the highest exposure and had the best business process. In addition to that, the bank also maintained Hasanah card financing as a product with the biggest number of card holders and also had the best business process.

During 2012, the bank’s strategy was relatively unchanged, focused on growing its low cost of funds from the funding perspective and growing consumer retail and micro financing.

To widen its coverage, BNI Syariah opened 23 branches, 85 sub branches, 7 cash offices and 20 mobile services in 2012, in addition to optimizing an agent cooperation with its parent company, Bank BNI. During 2012 BNI Syariah also opened 5 micro branches in Bogor as a pilot project for the Bank’s micro business. Bogor was first region for BNI Syariah’s micro business exposure.

Another strategy during the year 2012 was making recovery from troubled financing a focus by optimizing collection and recovery for retail, non-retail and Hasanah Card financing through better coordination with Recovery and Remedial Division, better monitoring for financing to reduce Non Performing Financing (NPF) from retail, non-retail, Hasanah Card financing and minimizing write off during 2012.

During 2012, the bank received many awards, including “the Best Syariah Bank in operational management risk for risk owner accountability” from Business Review, “Bank with very Satisfactory Financial Performance for 2011” from Infobank, “Gold Brand Champion of Most Popular Brand Outside Jakarta” from Markplus Insight, “The Favourite Mortgage Sharia Banking” from Majalah Housing Estate.

2013 Outlook

Going into 2013, the bank will develop retail, consumer and micro businesses by optimizing its branch network and strengthening its financing management system. The bank’s strategy for 2013 is growing its low cost of funds, expanding its earning assets, optimizing the branch network, optimizing the financing portfolio composition and maintaining financing quality and recovery, to support profitability and minimizing write off.
