Pedestrian crossing means a crossmg for the use of pedestnans estabhshed 1n accordance with these by laws
'Road1 includes way and track
Stop sign means a sign 1nscnbed with the word 'Stop across the face thereof
'Unrverszty means The Fltnders Un1vers1ty of South Austraha
University grounds' means the lands 1n the muruapahbes of Mitcham and Manon used by the Un1vers1ty for purposes of education or scientific purposes or both and all roads, ways paths, tracks Jakes pools open spaces and btnldmgs on and all appurtenances to the said lands
Vehicle includes any motor car, motor truck motor cycle, aircraft carnage, cart bicycle or other vehicle of whatsoever kind or nature and howsoever ndden dnven or propelled Trespass On Unrversrty Grounds
2 (a) No person shall trespass on the Uni vers1ty grounds
(b) Every person reasonably suspected by an authonsed person of trespassing on the Un1vers1ty grounds -
(1) shall give his or her name and address to that authonsed person upon bemg requested to do so, (u) shall forthwith leave the UmverSity
grounds If requested to do so by that authonsed person
Damage To UnrverS1ty Grounds
3 (a) No person shall wt1fully damage the Um vers1ty grounds or any part thereof or any fixtures, chattels trees shrubs bushes, flowers, gardens or lawns on or m those grounds
(b) No person shall on any part of the Uruvers1ty grounds

(1) remove or interfere with any stake or label on or near any tree, shrub, plant or flower,
(11) walk on or over any bed canta1n1ng or being prepared for flowers or shrubs,
(u1) walk on or over any lawn 1n contra venhon of any notice posted thereon
(1v) enter or walk on or over any part of the Un1vers1ty grounds which 1s enclosed and on which ts posted a notice proh1b1hng persons from entenng or walkmg thereon, or (v) interfere with or climb upon any
fence, bwld1ng or erecbon, or any fixed or moveable tlung
4 (a) No person shall w1th1n the Un1vers1ty grounds
(i) affix any bill poster or placard to or against any butld1ng, wall fence, structure road or footpath
(u) use paint or chalk or any other means to write or draw upon soll, deface or mark any building wall fence, structure road or footpath (b) This by law shall not apply to a portion
of a butldlng wall or structure approved by the Council for use for any purpose such as is referred to m paragraph (a) of this by law when used 1n accordance with any condition spec1f1ed by the Counctl

Disorderly Conduct
20 (a) No person shall on the University grounds use any tndecent language or be gwlty of any d!Sorderly conduct
(b) An authonsed person may remove from the University grounds any person gwlty of indecent language or comm1tttng disorderly conduct thereon
21 No person shall throw, place deposit or leave on the Uruvers1ty grounds any rubbish, refuse paper, bottles, or glass (broken or otherwise), or any 1.ttter of any kind or nature whatsoever
Alcoholic Liquor
22 (a) No person shall without the perm1Ssion of the CoWlcil or its delegate, bnng any alcoholtc liquor upon the Un1vers1ty grounds, or keep or consume any

alcoholic liquor upon the Un1vers1ty grounds
(b) An authonsed person may remove from the Un1vers1ty grounds any intoxicated person and search the Un1vers1ty grounds and vehicles for alcohol.tc 1.tquor, and may seize any alcoholic liquor reasonably suspected of having been brought on to the University grounds contrruy to thts by law
(c) The Council may confiscate any alcoholic liquor brought on to the Un1vers1ty grounds contrary to this by law, and thereupon such 1.tquor shall become the property of the Uruvers1ty
(d) This by law does not apply to any licensed premises within the Un1vers1ty grounds
Noise and Unseemly Behaviour
23 No person shall interrupt any lecture or any meeting by any noise or unseemly behavtour on the Un1vers1ty grounds, whether 1n or outside of bwldmgs
General
24 No person shall -
(a) Ktll or 1n1ure any livestock within the Uruvers1ty grounds
(b) Bnng wtthm the Un1vers1ty grounds any dog, unless such dog 1s at all tunes whtlst w1tlun the Uruvers1ty grounds kept on a leash,
(c) Bnng within the Umverstty grounds any other livestock (not being a horse used as a beast of burden or traction or any animal or animals brought w1th1n the Un1vers1ty grounds pursuant to a contract of arrangement made between the owner or person havmg the custody thereof and the Uruvers1ty)
(d) Be 1n posses1on of a fire arm or of any explosive devtce or explosive substance witlun the Un1vers1ty grounds
(e) Bathe m or pollute any lake or pool situated withm the University grounds or take or attempt to take any fish there from
(f) Light any fire w1thrn the University grounds except in a place set aside for that purpose
Defences and Exemptions
25 A person doing an act which but for this paragraph would be an offence agamst any of the foregoing by laws shall not be gmlty of an offence against such by law If, m doing the act tn quesbon
(a) that person was an employee of the Un1vers1ty performing that person's specrtied duhes, or
University Legislation
(b) that person was
(1) a pohce officer or other pubhc off1c1al1 or
(n) a person employed under or pursuant to a contract with the Un1vers1ty1 acting tn the course of hlS or her duty or employment or (c) that person was authonsed to do the act
by a resolubon of the Counctl (ofwluch a wnbng purporbng to be under the hand of the Registrar and to contam a copy of such resolution shall be sufficient evidence) or by wnbng under the hand of the Vice Chancellor a Pro Vice Chancellor or the Registrar
26 The owner, dnver or person in charge of the following vehicles shall be exempt from the provisions of by laws 14(b) 14(c) and 16 (a) a vehicle used as an ambulance and berng

(b) a vehicle used by a fire brigade for attendance at fires and at the time called in connection with or attending at an out break of fire or suspected outbreak of fire or

30 The Council may appoint any person to be a delegate of the Council for the purposes of these by laws, or for the purposes of any one or more of these by laws spec1f1ed in the resolution of the Council making such appotn ment The Council may1 at will, revoke any such apporntment
