This is the only accepted major in Psychology. After first year subjects addi- tional to the major may be chosen from Psychology IIB, Social Psychology and Psychopathology.

STUDY PROGRESS

The Faculty expects that students should be capable of at least a fifty per- cent success rate in studying for the B.A. degree. Students who do not achieve this will normally be recommended to the Professorial Board for suspension from the course. This applies to the following classes of students:

(a) Any student failing to gain at least one pass in the first year of his course;

(b) Any student who within two years of the commencement of his course.

fails to obtain passes in four grade 1 subjects;

(c) Any student who within four years of the commencement of his course fails to obtain passes in seven subjects.

Part-time Students

(a) Any student failing to pass three grade 1 subjects within three years of the commencement of his course;

(b) Any student failing to pass six subjects within six years of the commence- ment of his course.

Evidence to account for failure should be adequately documented.

In the event of suspension students are advised to consult the Sub-dean about suitable preparation for re-admission.

COMBØ COURSE Fil' THE DEGREES OF BACHELOR OF ARTS AND BACHELOR

A student who is admitted to a combined course for the degrees of B.A.

(Ordinary) and LL.B. will receive credit in the B.A. course for British History (Law) and three other subjects in respect of the LL.B. degree. Credit for British History (Law) will become effective on passing that subject but the remaining credit will not become effective before the completion of the Third Year of the LL.B. course.

The credit will be in Group 2 of the Aris course. A minimum of six Arts subjects must be completed and the degree designed to cover at least three of the five Groups. The six subjects are to be arranged to include at least one Arts major and one sequence of two parts of a major (formerly a sub-major).

The course should normally be taken in the following order:

A student may receive credit in the B.A. course for not more than four subjects of the B.Comm. course. The remaining subjects must include not less than three Grade 2 or Grade 3 subjects and be chosen so that the course complies with the requirements for the Degree of Bachelor. of Arts except that where in the opinion of Faculty hardship is involved Faculty may grant dispensation in respect of one group from the requirement of a pass in a subject from each of four groups.

Bachelors of Commerce who seek to complete a B.A. will receive similar credit.

COMBINED COURSE FOR THE DEGREES OF BACHELOR OF ARTS AND BACHELOR OF SCIENCE

A student may receive credit in the B.A. course for up to four subjects of the B.Sc. course. The remaining subjects must include not less than three Grade 2 or Grade 3 subjects and be chosen so that the course complies with the require- ments for the B.A. degree. Credit will not normally be granted at Grade 3 level.

If in the opinion of Faculty hardship is involved it may grant dispensation in respect of one group from the requirement of a pass in a subject of each of four groups. Bachelors of Science who wish to complete a В.А. will receive similar credit.

COMBINED COURSE FOR THE DEGREES OF BACHELOR OF ARТЅ AND BACHELOR OF ENGINEERING

Students wishing to combine M.B., B.S. with В.А. or wishing to complete B.A.

after graduating M.B., B.S. may receive credit in the B.A. course for up to four subjects of the M.B. B.S. course. The remaining subjects must include not less than three Grade 2 or Grade 3 subjects and be chosen so that the course complies with the requirements for the B.A. degree. If in the opinion of Faculty hardship is involved it may grant dispensation in respect of one group from the requirement of a pass in a subject in each of four groups.

COURSE FOR BACHELOR OF ARTS DEGREE AFTER BACHELOR of ABCHITEUWBE (HONs.)

A candidate who has completed the degree of B.Arch. (hons) and wishes to complete the В.А. degree may receive credit in the B.A. course for up to four subjects of the BArch. course and in addition may receive credit for not more than three subjects of the Arts course taken with the approval of both Faculties. concerned during the course of study for the BArch. degree. The credit for Architecture will be deemed to meet the requirement of a Group 5 subject. The combined course shall extend over not less than six years and the additional sub- jects must include at least one of Grade 2 or Grade 3 level and must be chosen so that they comply with the requirements of the B.A. degree. If in the opinion of Faculty hardship is involved it may grant dispensation in respect of one group from the requirement of a pass in a subject of each of four groups.

COURSE FOR BACHELOR OF АRTS' DEGREE AFTER DIPLOMA OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION .

A candidate who has completed Dip. Phys. Ed. and wishes to complete the B.A. degree may receive credit for up' to two subjects in the B.A. course for the work of the Dip. Phys. Ed. The remaining subjects must include two majors and be chosen so that the course complies with the requirements of the B.A. degree.

The credits granted will be deemed to meet the requirement of a subject from Group 4.

One approved sequence of two subjects to be chosen from the following:

(3) Any two consecutive parts of an approved major.

Note: Social Organization A and Social History, and at least two parts of Psychology, must be included in the course to meet the requirements of the Dip- loma of Social Studies.

Two Remaining subjects which shall be Social Biology and either one other Arts subject or Social Organization B, provided that at least one subject is taken from at least four groups of the Arts course, and that the course also complies with the requirements of the Diploma in Social Studies.

The combined course is to be taken as follows:
