The Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) understands that the COVID-19 pandemic has changed the way many senior students are accessing their learning.

We’ve prepared some suggestions to help you with your studies.

Resources to support preparation for assessment

Investigation (historical essay based on research) (IA3)

• Read and view online resources to build contextual knowledge of your assessment topics.

• Investigate archaeological websites or online museum collections of artefacts related to your assessment topics.

• Access databases of ancient sources to identify what evidence for your assessment topics survives from ancient times.

• Review the historical skills to be applied in your responses by unpacking the relevant instrument-specific marking guide (ISMG) and the syllabus glossary definitions.

• Apply the historical skills of analysis and evaluation of evidence from sources that you have been developing throughout your history studies.
