Bachelors of Laws may register for the third examination of the Bachelor of Arts degree in two subjects prescribed for that examination, except for the subjects they have passed in the course for the Bachelor of Laws degree and after passing these subjects they can be admitted to the degree of Bachelor of Arts. Applicants for the degree of Bachelor of Laws who have passed on or before February 1874 in a subject prescribed herein for the degree of Bachelor of Laws or its equivalent are not required to repeat this course at any of the above examinations. *. No student will be credited at the University of Melbourne for any part of the coursework for the Bachelor of Medicine degree completed elsewhere unless they have provided evidence of passing the examinations in the six subjects listed above.

A candidate who has been admitted to matriculation status from another university may not continue his studies for the degree of Doctor of Medicine unless he submits proof that he has passed the examinations in the six subjects listed above. Any of the five annual examinations for the degree of Bachelor of Medicine may be taken in the October or February term, or, except for the first examination, partly in the October term and partly in the following February term. The subjects of the first exam are all the subjects of the first year lectures.

The subjects of the Second Exam will be all the subjects of the second year Lectures. The subjects of the Third Examination will be General Anatomy Physiology and Descriptive Pathology and Surgical Anatomy and Surgery. The subjects of the Fifth Exam will be all the subjects of the fourth and fifth year Lectures.

Applicants for the Doctor of Medicine degree must hold a bachelor's degree in medicine of at least two years from the University of Melbourne or from another university recognized by it. Candidates for the degree of Doctor of Medicine who have provided evidence satisfactory to the. No candidate will be admitted to the second part of this exam unless they have previously passed the first part exam.

The regular exams for the Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Law degrees and for the Civil Engineering degree will be held every year in October and in February of the following year. Candidates who have passed the regular examination of a course for any degree or certificate in the October term of any year will not be allowed to sit for the next examination of that course in the following February term. In the case of the first examination for the engineer's certificate, proof of knowledge of drawing and mapping shall count as attendance in lectures.

The examinations for the degrees of Master of Arts, Doctor of Medicine, Master of Surgery and Doctor of Laws will be held in the short term before the commencement of the university. The Honors Examinations in the second third and fourth year of the Bachelor of Medicine course will be held in February. At the Third Honors Examination of the course for the Degree of Bachelor of Arts, Candidates may take Honors in the same or in different years in any or all of the four following Schools, but not more than twice in the same School— .

All award books will be fully bound and stamped with the university stamp. All those students who have matriculated from the matriculation examinations, who have matriculated from the next preliminary exam for such exhibitions can compete for matriculation exhibitions. All those students are eligible to compete for First Year Exhibitions who have passed the following Preliminary First Year Examinations and have passed the following Preliminary Regular Examination for the First Year Course for any Degree or Certificate.

One exhibition can be awarded at the Second Honors Examination in Engineering for the subjects Honors Examination in Engineering for the subjects prescribed for the second year of the program for the Engineering Certificate. One exhibition can be awarded at the 2nd honors examination in law for the subjects honors examination in law for the subjects set for the 2nd year of the course for the bachelor's degree in law. One exhibition can be awarded at the 2nd honors examination in medicine for the subjects Honors examination in medicine for the subjects prescribed for the 2nd year of the education for the bachelor's degree in medicine.

For the Third Honors Examination Law, one Exhibition can be awarded for the courses preparatory Honors Examination Law for the courses prescribed for the third year of the Bachelor of Law degree programme. At the Third Honor Examination in Medicine, one Exhibition can be awarded for the courses Honorable Examination Medicine for the courses prescribed for the third year of the Bachelor of Medicine programme. For the Fourth Honors Examination in Medicine, one Exhibition can be awarded for the courses. The Honors exam in Medicine for the courses prescribed for the fourth year of the Bachelor of Medicine degree programme.

Two scholarships may be awarded during the third honors examination of the course for the degree of Bachelor of Arts in alternate years in the Schools of Language and Logic and Science and in those of Mathematics and Physics and History and Political Economy for all students who may compete at has completed the third year of a university course on the next or the second preceding ordinary examination. One scholarship may be awarded during the fourth honors examination of the Bachelor of Laws course for which all students who have completed the course for that DeR'ree on the next or the second preceding ordinary examination may compete. One scholarship may be awarded during the fifth honors examination of the course for the bachelor of medicine degree for which all students who have completed the course for that degree on the next or the second preceding ordinary examination may compete.

Candidates for admission to the Professional Section of the Civil Service in the Law Officers' Departments of the Crown shall be subject to an Examination in the subjects of law from time to time determined by the Governor in Council. Such examination shall be conducted by the Law Lecturers and for the purposes of any Statute now or hereafter in force regulating the fees payable in the University of Melbourne shall be taken as a Matriculation Examination in which one subject is chosen. For Masters of Arts a gown similar to the Masters' gown used at Oxford or Cambridge with a black silk hood of the size and shape above described, lined with mauve silk.
