An Act relating to The Adelaide Electric Supply Company Limited, and for other purposes.

[Assented to 7th December, 1944.]

BE IT ENACTED by the Governor of the State of South Australia, with the advice and consent of the Parliament thereof, as follows :

1. This Act may be cited as " The Adelaide Electric Supply 8horttltle.

Company Act, 1944".

2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires- Interpretetlon.

"the Company" means The Adelaide Electric Supply Company Limited, its successors and assigns:

" the Treasurer" means the Treasurer of the State, or the Minister of the Crown for the time being acting as Treasurer.

3. (1) An inquiry shall be held by a Royal Commission into Inquiry by

(2) The Royal Commission shall be appointed by the Governor and shall be constituted of-

(a) a Judge of the Supreme Court, who shall be chairman;

(b) a member nominated by the Treasurer; and (c) a member nominated by the Company.

A decision of any two members of the Commission shall be regarded as the decision of the whole Commission.

(3) The Commission shall inquire into and report upon the supply of electricity by the Company and all matters connected thocewith and the question whether any further legislation relating to the Company is desirable and, if so, the nature of such legislation.
