The sectional drawing above reveals that the trip Valve A, when moved by the finger B, allows the water in the Valve to escape, thus releasing the pressure, allowing the service water to raise the plunger from its seat and pass a free flow of water to the pedestal. The Flush is easily and quickly regulated by the regulator D, which, when once set, should never be altered. Note that the plunger is entirely free of bucket leathers, etc., and will never need attention even after many years' use. The Trip Valve seating is a knife edge ground joint, which cannot perish or wear out like rubber or leather washers. The patented back pressure release Port K, is adjustable to ensure smooth, easy action under extremely high pressure, or to give added velocity to a weak flush on a very low pressure.
