Re-accreditation of Certificate I in Work Education and Certificate I in Work Readiness
Purpose
To tell schools about the re-accreditation of Certificate I in Work Readiness and Certificate I in Work Education after updates and changes to the course structures.
Background
The Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) has re-accredited the following courses:
30971QLD Certificate I in Work Education
30970QLD Certificate I in Work Readiness
The accreditation period of these courses is from 13 September 2011 to 12 March 2013. These courses replace 30626QLD Certificate I in Work Education and 30625QLD Certificate I in Work Readiness, whose accreditation period was to 13 September 2011.
In 2012, school RTOs must deliver the new courses to new students.
Students currently undertaking 30626QLD Certificate I in Work Education and 30625QLD Certificate I in Work Readiness may complete these courses. No new enrolments were permitted in 30625QLD or 30626QLD after 12 September 2011.

What you need to do
To offer these courses, school RTOs need to register with the QSA to deliver the courses, unless the school RTO is given an automatic registration.
Schools currently registered for 30625QLD Certificate I in Work Readiness
No action is required — your school will automatically be registered for 30970QLD Certificate I in Work Readiness later this year.
Students currently undertaking 30625QLD Certificate I in Work Readiness may complete this course. The course is registered to 31 December 2011 to allow for teach out this year.
Schools NOT currently registered for 30625QLD Certificate I in Work Readiness who wish to seek registration for delivery in 2012
Complete and send an RTO2 application by Friday 30 October 2011 to amend your school’s scope of registration. The form is available from the QSA website: http://www.qsa.qld.edu.au/12264.html.

RTO2 applications received after the due date may not be processed in time for the beginning of the school year in 2012.
