The University Council has decided that from 1978 only those overseas students who are sponsored by their home country for the specific purpose of obtaining a medical qualification will be considered.

In addition, the selection committee will consider the availability of medical courses in the candidates' home countries. In addition, there shall be power for the selection committee to recommend admission to the Second Year of up to ten students, who shall be required to undertake the full course of Anatomy, including Histology and Embryology, and to have studies enough previous in Biochemistry and Biochemistry and Physiology to qualify for exemption from the laboratory work of these two subjects.

500 - 301 MEDICAL STUDIES I1
Awards are given for overall achievement in biochemistry over the four terms of the course. EXAM The exam in this part of Medical Studies II is part of a 3-hour written exam at the end of the third semester.

EXAMINATION In the fourth year, questions on special pathology will be included in the written paper for medicine/surgery. In the final year, questions on special pathology will be included in the final exams for medicine, surgery and obstetrics and gynaecology.
PSYCHIATRY
Sixth grade takes the form of case discussions in the medical wards of general hospitals about patients with psychiatric and medical problems. OPHTHALMOLOGY
EXAMINATION The form of assessment in the 5th year takes the form of an examination that is completed at the end of the 8-week semester in psychiatry. In the final year, a multiple choice exam in psychiatry is included as part of the medicine assignment.

CLINICAL INSTRUCTION AT RECOGNIZED TEACHING HOSPITALS
During this time, clinical chemistry classes will be organized and pathology studies will continue. A course of lectures in medicine and surgery will be organized during the year, together with lectures and demonstrations in neurology.
ST. VINCENT'S HOSPITAL

THE MERCY MATERNITY HOSPITAL

DIPLOMA IN AUDIOLOGY
The candidate must have knowledge of the general applications of chemistry, physics and clinical pathology to anesthetics, and of the principles and day-to-day technique of resuscitation, transfusion of blood and inhalation therapy. The candidate is required to have knowledge of the common methods of clinical research used in anesthetics, such as spirometry, gas analysis and estimation of blood chemistry.
