All fifth-year men are encouraged to give serious consideration to these appointments and, by applying early, facilitate the work of the Committee. Full details of the new arrangement for expediting the work of men desiring to go to the front are not yet available, but we confidently expect that the Faculty will do what is best for the Student, the Professor, the Defense Department and the Public. Men in the present Fifth Year have come to the conclusion that their knowledge of the "Physiology of the Nervous System" is scanty, to say the least, and it was with a view to correcting this deficiency that the M.S.S.
In our last issue we had occasion to severely criticize the work at the Children's Hospital and the change in the curriculum whereby the value of the work was put into practice. Since then we have heard the opinions of others who have completed their tenure there and they are all unanimous in their opinion that the change was for the worse. Rowden White exhibits in his valuable clinics, stamps them both as true friends of the students, and they set an example which many others in the other hospitals might follow with great benefit to the physicians of the future.
Strong, learning through these columns of the poor arrangements in Therapeutics, and our want of sufficient training in that subject, delivered a series of lectures at the M.H. On Sunday some of the boys met Billy Godby in the street and on Monday I saw Bricky MacKenzie. He lives on this site and works with Keith at the Hunterian Museum. He is at King George Base Hospital but the site is not finished yet so his work is all administrative at the moment.
Bunny Colville and Clive Stephen came up and saw us the other night and we went to a show with them. He looks after the interests of the Australians, and the War Office people sent us along to him.
