IMPORTANT PUBLIC NOTICE

SYDNEY-NORTH REGIONAL FOX BAITING PROGRAM

Please be advised that the regional fox baiting program will be undertaken at local reserves in the Sydney North Region. The aim of the project is to protect native wildlife including threatened species from fox predation.

Foxoff® poison baits (containing 1080) will be laid from Monday, 12 August–

Friday, 30 August 2019.

The fox control program will involve the use of ‘Foxoff® Econobait’ poison baits that are designed specifically for fox control. Poison baits contain 1080 (sodium monofluoroacetate). Baits will be buried to reduce the risk of non-target poisoning.

Warning signs will be displayed to notify the public about the program. It is vital that pet owners take extra precautions to ensure that their pets do not enter these reserves during the dates stated. Penalties up to $1,100 apply under the Local Government Act 1993 Sect 632 (2) (d).

1080 POISON BAITS WILL BE LAID IN THE FOLLOWING RESERVES:

Bidjigal Reserve Managed by The Bidjigal Reserve Trust

Excelsior Reserve, Ted Horwood Reserve, 13 Cadwells Road, Kenthurst Managed by The Hills Shire Council

Lake Parramatta Reserve Managed by City of Parramatta Council

WARNING

1080 poison is lethal to Cats and Dogs.

Cats and Dogs MUST NOT enter baited reserves during the following dates:

Monday, 12 August–Friday, 27 September 2019.

Dogs on leads can return to these reserves on Saturday 28 September 2019.

PUBLIC NOTICE

PUBLIC EXHIBITION OF PLANNING PROPOSAL RELATING TO LAND AT 10, 12 & 14 RED GABLES ROAD, BOX HILL (2/2019/PLP)

Council received a Gateway Determination on 22 January 2019 to proceed with a planning proposal for land at 10, 12 & 14 Red Gables Road, Box Hill. The Proposal seeks to enable the inclusion of a new school on a portion of land within the Box Hill North Town Centre and redistribute commercial and residential floor space from this land to the remainder of the Town Centre site.

The proposal seeks to enable this development outcome through amending The Hills Local Environmental Plan 2012 as it relates to the site by increasing the maximum floor space ratio from 1:1 to a range of 1:1 to 2:1 and increasing the maximum permissible building height from 16 metres (approximately 4–5 storeys) to a range of 16 metres to 27 metres (up to 8 storeys).

Draft amendments to The Hills Development Control Plan 2012 (Part D Section 17 – Box Hill North) have been prepared in association with the planning proposal.

Delegation for making of the LEP has been issued to Council under the Gateway Determination.

The planning proposal and draft Development Control Plan amendments are now on exhibition and available for inspection at the following locations:

Any person may make a submission to Council. Submissions which contain objections must be specific in their content.
