I am very thankful to Kamalesh Biswase, Director (Recruitment & Training) for giving me the opportunity to do my internship at BTCL. This internship is on "Maintenance and Work Process of Data and Internet Exchange at BTCL". It is a kind of experience on a telecommunications network.

In this guide, I describe what I learned about the real-world deployment and workflows of data and internet exchange at BTCL during this internship period. Working at BTCL is a great opportunity for us. It has the largest infrastructure for providing data and internet services consisting of fiber optic networks with high capacity routers and switches across the country. This company provided telephone services all over Bangladesh. At this time, all offices, institutes, industries and home have more than one computer and mobile devices that need to communicate with each other to exchange data, so they are connected to the Internet.

Data communications and networking have changed the way business and other day-to-day matters work, with the Internet user base growing faster by the day. Very useful and the most important part in the field of information technology is the Internet. BTCL provides various internet services, such as (broadband, telephone, data and internet, ADSL, domain, etc.).

My internship experience in BTCL will give me an idea about my future life and will be a more rigorous step in my future education and in my profession.

The execution efforts of the project titled “Optical Fiber Cable Network Progress in 1000 Union Parishads” at the cost of Tk679.87 crores, funded by the GOV fund, are continuing in BTCL.

As per the scope of the project, about 8,000 km of OFC besides necessary transmission and D.C power equipment will be laid in 1109 unions of 114 upazilas. So in BTCL there is also the structure of its communication system So I draw the block diagram which is one of the parts of BTCL communication structure. BTCL is affiliated with foreign streaming providers like SingTel, TATA, Equinox, Akamai, Google, Facebook etc.

BTCL is connected to the global upstream via SEA-ME-WE4, SEA-ME-WE5 and ITC. It has the largest infrastructure for providing data and internet services consisting of fiber optic networks with high performance routers and switches across the country. The objective of the SWOT analysis is to classify the key internal and external issues that are critical to achieving the objective.

Caching is a temporary storage mechanism that speeds up the delivery of web content to end users. BTCL has National Internet Exchange Service which acts as a neutral meeting point of the ISPs. BTCL owns several blocks of public IP address purchased from APNIC, which is the Asia Pacific Regional Manager Organization of Public IP Address.

At the time we use optical fiber port which is imported into the splitter, splitter has two gateway ways, one used for landline phone and one for optical fiber port used in router. Then it is signed by the DE of BTCL and sends it to the Junior Assistant Manager. This is one of the most important sections in the BTCL, there are many types of switches in the core and upstream server room.

An ODF is one of the frames used to provide the interconnection between communications facilities. It can integrate fiber splicing, fiber termination and fiber optic adapters. In the JAIKA project we use the I manager U-2000 Unified Network Management System and for the KT (Korean Telecom) project I manager N-2000 Fixed Network Integrated Management system. During this time, I gain knowledge on how to activate or deactivate BTCL service users in each district and we always maintain the NOC space to show which service is up and which is down. In figure 3.18 I have given the project JIKA and KT process.

Moghbazar BTCL is the main division of Internet Data Exchange and Telecommunication. There are 5 departments in this sector. In this section, we solve some tasks that are important for networking procedures. Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) is a data communication technology that enables high-speed data transmission over copper twisted pairs using high frequencies not used by conventional telephone lines. ADSL was very sensitive and secure as all data, voice and important information is transferred. with ADSL. This is one of the most difficult jobs in these conditions.
