With due respect I would like to convey to your knowledge that as per our BBA program I have prepared my internship under the subject "General Banking Activities Of Social Islami Bank Limited" under your kind supervision. Abdur Rouf, Associate Professor in the Department of Business Administration, Daffodil International University, for his continuous support and guidance during the practical orientation period. His suggestions and observations were really a great source of inspiration to make the report a good one.

Mofazzal Hossain First Assistant Vice President and In-charge of SIBL, Kalma Branch under whom I completed my internship program. I have prepared the report based on the knowledge, understanding and ideas of the internship program. I declare that the internship report entitled "General banking activities of Social Islami Bank Limited" embodies the results of my work after the three-month period of work at the Kalma branch of Social Islami Bank Ltd.

I further declare that the work reported in this internship is original and not a part or that any other students have submitted a complete report for completion of BBA or second degree. Asaduzzaman, is a student of BBA ID no. successfully completed my internship program titled “General Banking Activities of Social Islami Bank Limited”, a study on Social Islami Bank Limited under my supervision and partial fulfillment for the award of BBA degree. This internship report is intended to provide a complete concept for the areas of general banking activities of Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL).

In the 1st chapter, I have discussed about the introduction, the origin of the report, the scope of the study, the purpose of the report, method, the limitation of the report.

The report covers the history, capabilities and for the most part the General Banking part of Social Islami Bank Limited. The planning of this report provides an extraordinary opportunity to have a broad information on bench exercises practiced by the branch. This report is made dependent on the experience gained during the time of 3 months of temporary work.

It was an incredible opening for me to basically learn and perform the entire procedure of general bench exercises. To prepare this report, all essential data has been collected from essential and complementary sources of information. The branch is too busy running the branch to conduct the survey based on a questionnaire.

Social Islami Bank Limited (SIBL) started its action on November 22, 1995 as a Second Generation Islamic Bank in close co-operation and with the help of some well-known personalities of the Islamic Work. Abdullah Omar Nasseef, Deputy Chairman of the Saudi Shura Council and former Secretary General of Rabeta Al-Islami, H.E. Ahmed El-Naggar (Egypt) received an enthusiasm for this respected Endeavor as a help to financial specialists.

Social Islami Bank Limited concentrates on dejection and is without a doubt a thought of a 21st century participatory three-zone banking model in one: in the best possible division it operates as an Islamic Participating Commercial Bank with a human face approach to managing credit and bets on the advantage and disaster sharing. Second is a non-formal setting aside of cash with comfortable asset and credit group that connects and adjusts with actual poor family and makes neighborhoods pay openings and crippled inner development; it is a Development Bank expected to adjust the targeted portion and the officials of Waqf, Mosque Properties, Non-Muslim Trust Properties in the Country. Security: Customers should have a sense of security with their every item and administration - They continue to guarantee it. Technology: Modern life is dependent on innovation - SIBL continues to seek the latest improvement to deliver the best in justice to their clients.

SIBL attitude towards all extreme and rich individuals of the general population towards a way of dealing with accumulating cash waqf deposits with the aim that the benefit can be used for the good of humanity. The SIBL Central Office department carries out the mission of clearing accounts through the local office. The local SIBL office acts as an agent for all SIBL branches of the Bangladesh Bank clearing house.

Inward Checks: Inward checks are checks originating from the individual branch and imposed on different banks and will be cleared/considered through the clearing of Bangladesh Bank.

Outward Checks: Outward checks are those conducted on other bank offices that are implemented by the Bangladesh Bank clearing place on the branch concerned for

The slip number must be the same numerically and verbally on both sides of the slip and must match the numbers and words on the check. The name on the check must be the same for both payment slips and the name on the check must be the same. It helps to distribute subsidy from one place to another in the interest of its clients as well as bank non-committees.

SIBL has offices in the largest urban communities in the country and thus fulfills probably the best mode of wealth transfer from one place to another. Therefore, cash can be transferred from one place to another through the banking channel. Branch settlement is one of the most important parts of the investment banks in providing administration to its customers.

Because it deals with most liquid assets that have appropriate cash portion of SIBL Local Office Division. Each section collects cash from depositors and pays cash at the counter against cheque, copy, PO and pay slip. This is the unique feature of the banking system, known as 'payment on demand'.

Anyone who wants to deposit money must fill out the deposit slip and hand over the form to the cashier's counter together with the money. The cashier counts the cash and compares it on the receipt with the image editor. Instead, in addition to the cash received mark, he signed the slip and notes against the A/C number in the cash book.

The cashier passes the deposit slip to the counter section for accounting purposes at the end of the procedure and gives the customers a duplicate slip. Account holders can enjoy locker service and store their assets in the bank's custody. By customer: When a customer wants to close his/her account, he/she submits a request to close his/her account with the administrator.

Findings

Shortage of availability of Machinery: There is a shortage of photocopier at Kalma Branch of SIBl. Because of this shortage when employee or customer want to photocopy document, they have to do it at an outside shop. Shortage of Manpower: Due to lack of manpower at Kalma branch sometimes customers have to wait more.

Lack of ATMs: The bank cannot attract new deposits due to the lack of ATMs.
