1.3 What is Internship?

The position of a student or trainee who works in an organization, sometimes without pay, in order to gain work experience or satisfy requirements for a qualification. As competition for graduate jobs increases, students need to think of new ways to set themselves apart from all of the other equally qualified and skilled candidates. Graduates who have relevant workplace experience tend to be more valued by employers, and this makes internships an attractive prospect.

1.4 Background Of Internship

hThe last step of graduation is intern. Which should done under a company or working house and its time should be minimum three months.

I was completed my internship from “The daily Alokito Bangladesh”. Being my intern topic was newspaper, so I can understand the importance, need and influence of newspaper. Apart from classroom experiences during the academic life, professional experiences was not that different. But new experiences took place as well. In the class room theoretical studies happens a lot over various subject. But in the internship period we worked vastly on a singular subject. This was the core difference between academic life. To be a good journalist theories and practical knowledge is important. But my internship, I got vast experience regarding practical works because was great deal during practical work, the deadline must be followed. Again should be mentioned that academic course and practical work totally different. But from the experiences of our academic session the 5w’s and 1H method for news writing and the Inverted pyramid structure was really helpful for me as I used those knowledge in my practical life.

4.2 Expectations and Outcomes

The following subjects in our academic life like Radio journalism, Television journalism, Introduction to Editing and page make up subject has helped me a lot regarding my practical work .As a company follows individual patterns regarding news making, that was also a new experience for me.

Experience and Future: After getting a degree from university, it is a matter of great problem to get a job for a new comer in the field. A new job requires experiences in which the internship chapter means a great deal. Again, during this period, communication skill develops with various

houses which helps in the doctors of job Experiences.
